Isn't that the Nix academy based at Scots College?

Why the Shore? I'm not a big b-ball follower but I thought the Breakers also played in Kohimarama.

Don't they play most of their games over on the shore and the finals at vector?

In terms of secondary and age group representative basketball, North Harbour is the hot bed of basketball. Not sure if that is because the Breakers live there though.

My frustration stems from being clueless as to the intentions of Welnix and their running of the club.

I could have probably drawn some conclusions a lot earlier but you like remain hopeful that we're shark because things are tough or choices are made when there a factors that are out of the owners control

For all we know the club died four and a bit years ago.

They have been shady from the beginning, and when we have learnt something about them, their stated goals have often been contrary to previously stated desires.

This is personal but I am a little despondent about all things football, with Kosta coming home (+ the above).

I love Kosta, and yes there is glory in playing football here, I believe, but with the season he's had, my guess was that he would have wanted to make a splash on the world scene. To be honest I am little disappointed.

Hudson's talked about some players are just wired differently (wood) and maybe that is true.

What's wrong with how we spend the cap? You don't like the fact that we spend more than it? Is that what's concerning you?

Or the fact that we don't spend 1.4 million dollars on marquees like Holosko? He's a great return on investment. Or even 500k on Garcia (which the FFA is paying for not CCM allegedly) - great return there, way better than players that fit under the cap like Fornarolli and Mclaren.

Sorry Yellow but on this thread I disagree. I don't think Welnix have done too bad considering the FFA have held a gun at their head for the last 2 seasons with various threats of losing the licence etc.

I'll go further and say that without the Welnix doing the negotiation (specifically Rob) we would not have a club right now.

WelNix seem 100% legit but here's an interesting article about the types of people who might want to buy a football club: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2009/jul/01/mo...

Tony Fernandez is a bit dodgy though - just look at what he did to the Caterham F1 team.

The Greek situation is that the HFF got suspended from UEFA after the Greek government stopped the league, amirite?

Ah, I thought it was about preventing Greece from winning the UEFA Championship again, like they did against the favourites Portugal in 2004, thus costing the bookmakers a mint.

And that immortal quote.....

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2004/jul/04/mi...

"56 mins: Portugal 0 - 1 Greece. In the 56th minute, the only underdogs in history that everyone wants to see get beaten, score from their very first corner of the match. Slack Portugal marking allows Angelos Haristeas scores with a straightforward header from about eight yards, with Ricardo caught in no-man's land."

@Doloras Nope, I think it's referring to the Greek Cup semi-final between PAOK and Olympiacos was postponed due to the home (PAOK) fans running onto the field in protest over corruption. The decision which caused that was a penalty that wasn't given in the 85+ minute.

I'm Greek, so I watched the match highlights and the protests were fair enough. I used to be a Olympiakos fan and I've switched to the team currently in 5th place (Panionios) due to the Red-and-Whites' constant domination.

The cup final is apparently set at May 19th(?) by Livescore.com but.. we'll see. This is the cup that gets you into the Champions League, I believe. Or the qualifying stages, I cannot remember.
