Yes all clubs have them. It is based on Solo who are sponsoring the Goal of the Year. They are also on the back of all shorts but not paying clubs as much as Sony are paying us.

Wish we could see Adelaide, Sky aren't showing it. How I miss my Foxtel have to rely on Iraq Goals

A can of black paint, a smallish brush, a steady hand and lots of newspaper and old clothes...

I reckon Sony would have always wanted to stay on board, but with the economic downturn they had t cut back somewhere...really pleased to see that they have managed to find a way to stick with the Nix

Agree that the away top will now look MUCH better. Tempted to buy both at one stage overthe season, although at this point struggling to afford either!

Export dirty three % off the kit due to booze ban

Adelaide were threatening to ask FFA for compensation for losing Coopers as a sponsor due to that rule, perhaps we could do the same, and get some money to buy the star striker.

ADELAIDE United will demand compensation if it has to relinquish key backer Coopers to accommodate a FFA zero-tolerance policy on alcohol sponsorship.

United chairman Greg Griffin will lock horns with FFA chief executive Ben Buckley in Sydney today, determining the governing body's intent on pursuing funding from the Commonwealth community sports anti-binge drinking program.

Also important news to most

“One of the first things we’ll be working on together is our plan for the 2012-13 season membership drive,” Dome said.

“We envisage having memberships on sale by the end of July.”

Have we had a contracted advertising agency before? No disrespect to DD because he did a fantastic job on his own, but having Clemenger on board could be fantastic.

Seems bizzare the FFA are going to prevent all clubs from ever having a beer sponsor. Just because it is not heavily sponsored at the moment doesn't mean you aren't cutting out a significant potential revenue stream. Stupid decision IMO.

Clemenger coming in sounds like a good fit.

The Aussie government is offering sports organisations cash to not have booze sponserships.

[quote]Twelve of Australia's sporting codes have agreed to shun alcohol sponsorship in exchange for promoting a message about responsible drinking.

Swimming Australia, the Football Federation of Australia, and Basketball Australia are some of the clubs who have signed up to the Federal Government's program.

In exchange for a share of $25 million in funding, the codes will refuse sponsorship from alcohol companies, and instead campaign against binge drinking.

So, guess that rules out FFA sponsorship of the 12 pubs of Lochhead.

Campaign against Binge drinking... have they met the supporters of the A-League clubs?

I'm sorry but there's no way that Clemengers and Deloittes should be included in the sponsorship thread.

In both cases these press releases are simply the club announcing a new supplier.

I doubt very much whether either party is giving the club any cash, at best it might be free services but more likely it is some kind of discount rate or contra deal in return for being a club 'partner'.

It's all very nice but you have to wonder where it stops... Newsflash! Cottonsoft announced as official bum-wiping partner of the Wellington Phoenix?

Also, these type of arrangements can get tricky to manage. Often the 'sponsoring' party is not inclined to give the highest level of service because they are not making their normal margins off the client.

Good news but I'll save the fist pumps for when we get our new import striker.
