All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight
Don't care who the sponsor is, as long as they stump up the readies. I could handle Jiffy Condoms, AIDS Helpline or the No More Bumps piles cream if they give enough money to ensure that the club can sign a quality marquee player and all sorts of promotional work round the country.

Maybe there is another business with the foresight to take on the Nix. Not all businesses are hurting as the media will tell you and many are still performing well and in some cases are growing profit on last year.
The companies that take some initiative and take a punt will stand out at a time when others are cutting back and using every excuse in the book to reduce staff and slash advertising.
Now who are they........?

How much will this hurt ... feel very sorry for guys ... maybe the answer is an Asian company wanting exposure in Australia given the league is expanding to 12 teams over the next two seasons.
BTW those that suggested Jetstar .. it's not half a bad idea as QANTAS sponsor the Socceroos and Jet Star and the cheap QANTAS airline.

The $3m figure, as Hard News points out, is well wide of the mark. The media reporting the figure are giving a false impression of what it costs to be a Phoenix major sponsor and thus impairs the club in its search for a new partner.

I think the Nix will be making the figure well known to any one they approach

Why don't we get that firm " Easy Lay Tiles Ltd" to sponsor the Phoenix..........that way the shirt would just say.........Easy Lay...........it would be great for merchandising, I'd wear one. Mind you they would probably prefer to sponsor a womens team!!!!!!

Interesting article in Saturdays Dom Posts magazine about cricket.....theres a piece in the article about how DEC now sponsor the Black Caps.
They are an Indian Commercial Property Development company based in Dubai, and sponsored the Black Caps based on who we were playing this 08/09 season despite the fact most NZers had never heard of them and that they had no presence in NZ.
This will give them a massive ROI for their money spent in terms of exposure to the Indian and world markets when considering that Air Sahara paid US$70million for the 4 year shirt sponsorship of the Indian cricket team.....
Just throwing that in there to make an example of potential sponsors we may know little about who might want to break into the Oz/NZ markets

Latest media reports say that the Sony sponsorship was worth 300,000 to 400,000 per season. That seems more likely. Not sure where the 3 million came from! still it will be a loss. I suppose the Phoenix would settle for a smaller amount considering the state of the economy. Whoever it is will have to be a transtasman company....the club plays 50/50 games in each country. Which probably cuts out a few Wellington only business's
