Shit, erik would push us on greatly. Next time we win and ernie does a victory lap/sip. Get in his ear about him.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

Time for some late injury replacements?

With Caira gone for the season will we see Justin Gulley? Very worried about our defensive stocks at the moment as I'm still not convinced Boxall is a right back.

I think there will have to be a couple of injury replacements just to make up the numbers. Is the fact there is no transfer window open going to prevent players coming in from the ASB premiership?

IIRC yes it will as they are considered International transfers. Ryans Rovers will probably be along soon to confirm..... Come in RR

Nostalgia isnt what it used to be...........

That's the thing - he isn't a right back. I'm sure Ernie doesn't think that and Boxall definitely doesn't. Fact is, he's been put there because of the circumstances. He's doing a decent job considering.

He's not your tradditional attacking RB with pace and agility to contain the leagues wingers. That said from what I've seen his strength, tackling, touch, and decision making in the defensive 3rd is top notch and means he's not butchering the role. We've been lucky with no Sigmund or Durante absences recently, but I'm confident when he's called upon at CB we'll see his performances improve more.

^ agree with this!

Queenslander 3x a year.

I thought Siggy was great last night, but basically my thought is I wish we had some RB cover so Boxall could play CB

Normally we wouldn't be able to but last season in Rnd 27 we picked up Rowe and Basalaj due to lack of players. So I assume the FFA can make an exception for us.

Gulley & Bertsch I guess could be possibilities but Tee Dubs have the OCL spot to fight for, so may be reluctant to let them go. So ummm yeah, Clapham for Nix?

Will our AWs be back for the game? Without them we have 12, I think.

They will be back, hopefully with no injury worries.

By next weekend Hogg, Scott, Myers, Butler, Coombes, not to mention Mulligan & Biss will all be available. If wanted.

A mulligan on Mulligan then?

I'd rather we fronted with just the 12 players

I'm not entirely sure that the comment to which you are responding to should be taken as one intended to be received with a belief in the sincerity of the intention of the commenter.

I wasn't serious about Mulligan, I just wanted to make a mulligan joke :P

Does Gulley even start for TW? I think Biss and a right back like Gulley wouldn't be THAT bad.. Assuming they'd be bottom of the pecking order anyway. Is Bertos fit?

Troy Hearfield to make a triumphant return at RB.

I thought ACFC were our feeder club now?

What about Ian Hogg. His season is virtually over at Waitakere and he's match fit. He could slot in at RB and Boxall could be CB where he should be. And he's not an import. Both Hogg and Clapham are available, go on, they'll be better than throwing kids into the flames.

Caira is a LB, Hogg is a LB. Why would you suggest him for RB when Boxall is there?

Because Boxall is clearly more suited to a central defensive role and is exposed at RB as Adelaide demonstrated. I now think there's a big question mark over Durante's pace which Boxall could substitute for. Don't rate Caira, nor Lia without Reira to mop up.

Jason Pine @pineyzb

Hearing Team Wellington's Irish defender Shaun Timmins may be signed as injury cover by Wgtn Phoenix early this week #aleague

02 Mar 18:51

What type of defender is he? Lb, rb, cb?

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.
02 Mar 18:59

CB.

02 Mar 19:45

WTF? So we need a 5th CB in our squad now? Or is the Dura to DM gamble growing some legs.

02 Mar 20:10

Don't understand that at all. I think moving Durante forward at the moment would be silly even though I considered it a possibility at the start of the season. He would need time to adjust and didn't really look comfortable positionally in the role for the Al Whites.

02 Mar 20:16

I had never heard of him but google seems to think he is a LB

Ex- Redditch FC in UK Southern League (played for them last year). In the same div but lower than the St Albans team I saw playing at home last September, who were very poor on the day. ( I think St Albans crashed out of FA Cup 7-0 to Mansfield Town of the Conference).

Who??

Fuck this stupid game

02 Mar 23:36

I would suggest that because TW have no O League commitments, then that's why he has been tapped (along with actually showing some love for TWs)

One for next season, would Kosta fit into Ernie's system? SST (Yeah I know, take with a grain of salt) saying the Victory is trying to offload a visa player and he is the only one contracted for next season.
