Please re-sign Doddy now. I am sick of hitting him up at the pub trying the find out what he is up to (well, he is sick of me)

We're in the same boat.

I'm going to say again that Kwasnik is a quality footballer and we need to keep him.  His gametime in the last two matches showed his class.

Yep, never been a fan of Kwasnik but even I saw some quality in the last 2 games off the bench. I don't think he will want to stay though.

Fair enough.  More than a week in Wellington is difficult for somebody with even the sternest of spirits.

im happily in the group that thinks that Kwasnik should be resigned...whether he wants to or not will be up to him, but I think in the last couple of games he has shown some class and maybe a bit more game time will cement his consistency..keep him at the expense of ferrante, brown, christie

He doesn't. Allegedly.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I would be happy if he resigned...no payout required...win win for both parties ;) honestly if someone doesnt want to be at the club get rid of them ;)

Yeh, but quality footballers show up more than one game, and a couple of minutes with tired defences.

We needed goals from someone other than Smeltz, and after I made the effort to get to the first game it would have been great for him to put away the tap in for the win against Queensland.

He didn't show in a central attack. Can we fit him in on the flanks with Bertos, Daniel, Hearfield, and Costa?

We signed him to do a job and he couldn't do it.  Keeping him would be risking more of the same, especially if as Jag says he isn't really that keen. Would much rather have Brown or Christie any day. Their jobs are completely different and they've more or less done them when asked.

well said... he was brought in for his attacking abilities....he did not perform so we need to realise a poor investment and just cut our losses...just like anyone else who has a job...if you continually underperform more than likely this will show up in your work appraisal and the matter will be dealt with by your employer...same thing applies here ;)

He only had a one year deal, so he's free at the end of March (I'm guessing on that date - based on Gold Coast being able to talk to players from October 1st - or some time around then)

assuming the first striker is marquee
That's a pretty big assumption.

Not really - I would expect our number 1 striker to be our highest paid player and therefore, to manage the salary cap, he would be designated our marquee.

Hopefully he will be marquee in not only salary cap status but also ability - which is probably the point you were making

Not quite. The point I was making is that one of our players this season was strongly rumoured to have been our 'secret' marquee, and this player will be back with us next season. That's all I have to say on the matter.el grapadura2009-01-25 17:39:18

Unless I'm mistaken he was signed on a 1 year contract expiring at the end of this season.

If not renewed he becomes a free agent.
He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

why is talk of robbie kruse a bannable offence...i thought this was a forum for peoples opinions..didnt realise that hard news thought he was god..sounds like a jumped up dickhead to me...just cos you dont like something mate doesnt means others cant have a contrary opinion...im sure you were the most perfect 19 year old the world has ever known..just try and understand we cant all attain your high standards or sense of self importance...for me kruse could be a good investment..he obviously has a fair bit of skill and perhaps getting away from his comfort zone might be the making of him

also he can score the odd goal here and there...something most of the current squad dont seem to be doing on a regular basis with the exception of smeltz ;)

I guess the idea of not understanding dry humour when faced with it might come into play here.

How about Kruse and Ljubo Milicevic on a two for one deal? Could counsel each other and swap DVDs.
