I do think it was marginally too expensive and think perhaps just under $40 instead of just under $50 would have been an easier sell. To advocate $15 or $20 though is naive and unrealistic.
Boca aren't one of the English big 4
but they are a world recognised football brand and to charge more than a game against the North Queensland Fury is not unreasonable.
It is also worth noting two other points.
1, The Everton tour of Aus was as much as double the cost of this match.
2, The club got paid a set fee from Boca for the match, every chance that it was then Boca's decision (or at least a significant input) on pricing as ticket revenue was theirs.
this.
Yes I know times are hard, but apart from Kiwihatter, Degan, me and the wife who traveled up to Hamilton this is the first time most of you would have seen 98% of the squad in action since the WC. Some of those lads went to that tournament and did "ok"

after being part of an AW squad written off by expert footy journos as awful.
I might add Herbert has stayed with us. I fully expected him to be off and I admire him more for putting football in this country before his wallet. It was cool seeing him get recognized and I'm glad I started the "we love you Ricki" chant.
So yes it' s pricey. When you are young you have to often make choices. I put going to see live bands above following football when I was a nipper because I could not choose both and I don't regret it.
Luckily/unluckily there are fairly few bands coming over that you lot have to spend your money on - so you can spend it on the football.
Buffy - You can always find another back up job. I worked 2 jobs many times in my late teens and twenties and was regularly working 70odd hours plus a week. It just depends if you want to do that or you have to do that.
