it is not really about the pitch it is more about the safety of the supporters getting to the venue.

the game is at 9pm right? When are we roughly going to know whether it's on or not? Surely an hour and a half before the game? It stinks cause I am going away for work tue-fri so hope it's on as I'm not sure I'll be able to watch it...in foxton! :(

Heres the rain radar link

Stroms and heavy rain overnight and light rain now. Not too bad now, light dizzle but no wind to blow it away.
Honestly can't see a problem unless the the skilled park drainage is crap and football wants to be seen as nancies.
If they played it in my backyard they would be fine. ( especially as it would be free beer and Nix fans only  )

No thanks. You might have noticed people die in bushfires.

They did , in welly not so long ago.
Personally I think its a bit soft but it the pitch is waterlogged its no good for football.
Disappointing for newish stadiums if they don't have good drainage. Just dumbarse.
Gosford being an exception because water tends to settle in holes.

That's sorted then, take the (potential) Travelling Home game away from Auckland and have it in AusKiwis Back Yard

, I'm in Brisbane on 4 1/2 acres. Better than Auckland and probably cheaper to get to.
Just might not be able to accomodate the 10,000 break even point
There might be a couple of gum trees on the pitch but put a shirt on them and they would be just as effective as some players, .
Turf is probably better than some grounds I've seen.
There will be none of that Tui  'beer' crap through.
You'd have to put up with Crownies and Toohey Dry (Platinum for the pissheads) and maybe some dancing girls.
Sorry ladies, I know its sexest but dancing boys are not on the cards.

Sigmund or Dadi - should be Sigmund (I'd rather have a forward on the bench in a game we want to win) but suspect it will be Dadi.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

They were going to assess him today.  Ankle knock during the week.  If I had to guess, I'd say he won't play tonight.

Finally FIFA has seen what has been patently obvious for years.

Still, better him, marginally, than Ben Williams.

Here's our fat friend Clive Palmer personally inspecting the pitch this afternoon.

Is there a photo of Clive Palmer in existence where he doesn't look like he's about to burst out of his shirt?

Apparently not.

Whoa! There it goes, the shirt finally couldn't take any more. Nice to see that Clive observes the highest standards of self-grooming when he's out and about.

Watching the game in Christchurch, did the Phoenix get out of first gear?
Apart from the 'long' ball nothing much was achieved. How about playing 'football' next time Ricky
