I feel we were unlucky not to get 7 last time against them, but hopefully we can make up for that this time.

yip, sorry I got that now (saw it on the other thread).

I wonder wether it's actually good news for us? I mean, I don't really rate Pantelis. He's got fitness but doesn't really create much going forward. In addition, he has a reputation for being a brute, so after he fouled Ifill for the 10th time, the ref might have been biased toward us..

I really wish Smeltz had gotten something, but it wouldn't have been fair as his foul was unintentional. And we shouldn't be too afraid of him. After all we shut him down once, so we have to do the same on sunday!

Anyone else reckon Crowther will start this weekend?

He's funnier to watch.

I think the fact that Reddy has been playing (and performing amazingly) with a groin injury says it all.

We should have won the last time we played them away I thought. I'm not overly confident with our current form though.

If we're going to make 7 - 0 we need to go all out attack. I say a 0 - 5 - 5 formation. Reddy should be able to hold them out I reckon.

                              Reddy
                                  -
Hearfield - Bertos - George - Caceras - Lochead
Ifill - Costa - Dadi - Greenacre - Rojas

Massive credit for Bopman for starting up a thread about this game on fourfourtwo and baiting the GCU fans with regards to their emphatic loss to us.

not bad, but we could do better than Dadi upfront.

Crowther for striker!

cant wait for this game. gonna be there cheering the boys on for my first away game.

Same line up as last week I guess, but wonder what will happen with Lia now he has served his ban?

Would be interesting as Manny has done well.

I never believe a player that has served a ban should march straight back in unless neccesary - (Siggy will be regretting his holiday)
Lia on bench

Would start a 4-3-3 with Lia coming straight back in. I think we've missed him more than people think.

Greenacre or Dadi to drop to the bench

I'm guessing / hoping 4-4-2

                       Reddy
Hearfield     Dura    McKain    Lochhead
Caceres     Brown    Muscat   Ifill
            Greeny           Dadi

Bench;
Lia
Bertos
Daniel
Crowther

Wouldn't surprise or worry me if Lia went straight back in to DM and Manny dropped to the bench. I do not want to see Sigmund on the bench - nothing against Sigmund but having a specialist CB on the bench, in a game we want to win, is poor use of a precious bench spot. He has been on the bench 3 times in the last few games and never got on the park (you don't want to disrupt your established CB pairing). It is either Manny / Lia or Sigmund on the bench and the former offer far more options in terms of replacing tired legs and tactical changes.

Lia straight back in for Manny, he can make a bit of impact off the bench for the last 15.

Caceres is unlucky, but Bertos looked really hungry when he came on in ChCh and I reckon deserves his starting spot back. I like Caceres as an impact player better anyway.

Daniel late sub to spark something if needed.

                 Reddy

           Durante   Mckain
Hearfield                  Lochhead
               Lia Brown

Muscat in for Lia and I think that is the team that will play. In saying that I rate what Lia brings to the team but Rickis previous form in this area suggests he will stick with what worked in Chch

Just as happy with that - I see starting / bench decisions to be made as Lia / Muscat & Bertos / Caceres.

Sub timing is all wrong though - you should know by now first sub is made at 65
min.

I would love to see this... but only if Bertos decides to regain his former flare

No suprise that we had the run of the 3 terrific games with the 4-3-3

Allows Muscat to focus on what he is good at - tackling ,tracking players etc. Allows Lia and Brown to do what they're good at - Brown making runs forward and Lia with those raking passes cross field. Caceres and Ifill drop back when we're defending so it's more like a 4-5-1. Allows Lochhead and Hearfield to get forward more because Manny can drop into the defence so we basically have 3 at the back when we're going forward if needed.

Only concern is Lia's fitness.

*has bought nothing proper to the team for almost three months but can't think of any other attack-minded players to put in ahead of him.  Certainly not Rojas.
