This 5 man bench thing got me thinking...... What if (and heaven forbid) we picked up a couple of injuries and somehow Mully made it onto the bench. Then with the scores looked up Mully comes on late in the game and scores a ripper to win the game, becomes an instint legend and who else knows what..... very farfetched i know, but, could be quite funny.

Welly is coming to the party on this one i reckon!

went for a walk to People's for a coffee with my stripey on

got stopped for two intellignet football conversations one with Braveheart and one with an Everton fan

and had two cars toot, wave and cheer - it wasn't at my rippling physique

Sorry haven't got the hang of searching all posts.. but did anyone answer this ?

I really want to come down for next Sunday, but it's gonna be a tough ask.
Another one at Home would be just the Ticket....mind you can't see the Jets beating GCU

One a piece & a draw Nix-Perth this year.
But frankly we are a different team to the one that lost 2 nil last time. That was a bizarre match where the stats were even but we just were not focused.
Three good wins recently with a clean sheet says, we ought to do it.
And at home too. I suspect the Nix have the form over Perth.

One would suggest our record of having lost the least number of games all season puts us in good position to go all the way.

Checked the metservice site and they predict sunny with a high of 20d for next sunday, I know its along way off but some nice weather could make a big differnce to what kind of crowd we get. So could the kickoff time, 5pm and good weather could see 20-25k, 7pm and crap weather probably 17-20k.

Hoping for 5pm, 25d and 25k to cheer the boys on to week 2!!!!

or - even better - 25 degrees at kick off and 12 degrees rain and southerly after 10 mins (with a brief let up in the conditions from the 80th min onwards)

I'll be a nervous wreck come 7 days time. Like on Friday afternoon. I keep worrying that surely we will lose a game at the ring of fire some time... Hopefully not now though.

Correct, but you can obviously still only use three

Why can't they have this rule for the whole season? 3 subs on the bench ain't great.
It's 4 subs on the bench in regular season - seems weird they'd increase that by 1.

Too confident? Nah, confidence is a good thing as long as it is paired with action.
Yes, I think it will be a lot harder game than most on here seem to expect.
Thinking about a game after Perth that doesn't exsist for us yet, is a setup for a fall.
Hope we show Perth respect while kicking their arse.

We shouldn't underrate Perth...they have a very experienced line-up and won't give it up without a fight. Ironically the closest we have actually got losing at the ROF for our 17-game streak has probably been to Perth. On two occasions they have taken the lead and we've had to score late to draw the match (though I will admit we finished over the top of them both times and almost found a winner in both).

That being said, at home in front of the ROF faithful, we should fancy our chances. Could be a momentous night.

I think we are a wee bit too confident. Hopefully the players aren't complacent also, Perth are the kind of team that we don't do so well against. They seem to match our niggle in the midfield. Add to that they have won 4 out of the last 5, this is going to be close!

On the good side you can see at the end of this video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ht29dkh-FMA&feature=sub
The Perth boss is angry because 5 of his best players have to travel to the A-League awards on monday and miss build-up before flying to Wellington on Wednesday. Haha can only help our cause.

I don't think there is much between us and Perth player and ability wise - I think it will be more a mental battle and the team that handles the pressure better will prevail. In Ifill and Dura we have some wise heads who have been there before - if they can keep the team level headed and calm I think we will do it.

My main worry is McBreen - we don't handle tall strikers that well and will need to think through how to shut down the aerial threat - in both open play and from set pieces.

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

Perth seem to score against us at home, they are also on a run of form with some very decent players - McBreen just seems to score goals in his sleep at the moment.
I am sure that we can take them, but this isn't going to be a walk-over.

Looking forward to flying over Sat and must admit agree with alot of the comments here.I have watched quite a few Nix games at ROF on TV and Perth have been one of the better away sides to visit. The Ifill factor will be huge as he is the best player in the league, saying that we have a strong midfield who on their day play some great stuff. For me though Nix have the consistency and that may pull you through.Travel again is a major factor as The Nix found when they came to Perth in Jan and looked very lackluster.Hope the players arrive earlier in the week to acclimatise and prepare for a strong southerly...............damn forgot we dont play at all well if the temp is below 30c haha.

Think it will be close. Only only differance between us and them is the fever.
Perth 1
Nix 1
Yellow Fever 1
2-1 should do it!

We should have a SLIGHT edge over them, but as it is the play-offs I wouldn't think the Perf will be feeling cowered by a hostile crowd.  Do or die for both teams so hopefully our lads will be equally determined and ruthless (actually MORE not equally).
