Sad to say, but on last night's performance, looks like the only prize the Nix are going to end up with this year is the wooden spoon. Again!

I think we should look into getting a giant one made now so it's ready for season's end.

that's a great idea I'll start chiseling one from an oak tree instead of watching them play.

edit: I actually think this is a good idea, we could all haul it to the stadium - on rollers or something. It could be our mascot.

How do we go about it?

Or if not we all take one to the next home game. Made of cardboard a man sized one.

Good opportunity to put some banners together.

"We're sh*t, and we know we are..."

"Say we're bottom of league, say we're bottom of the league..."

Etc etc.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

No, we're going to run to the FFA and have a cry because we're not getting our way!!!
No wait... Thats what Tards do!

Seems ironic when YF chants "You're so sh*t it's unbelievable!!" at the opposition.

Read about a good chant can be sung to the "We're not auckland anymore"

It's "Lets pretend we're gonna score !"

at the moment all I can see is the mass email with smeltz pictured asying, you've done your bit, now its our turn!
what a joke! all they've done is slap us in the face and laughed at our undying support.....off the field the cajole us and say "we appreciate the support and will pay it all back" on the field they play as if they just don't give a toss!

How about "If you're upside down we're first"

Anyway, I've been waiting 19 years for Liverpool to win the title so the Phoenix have a long way to go before they give me that level of pain.

At least Liverpool score goals and make the top half of the table consistently.

I know I'm not in a position to tell Tony P what to do, but if you are reading this I hope you and Ricki are looking at multiple good players for next season, and if not will start soon.  Tim Brown, Vaughn Coveny, Leilei Gao, Mark Paston, and Daniel only succeeded at epitomizing failure.  I know how everybody says, "well you couldn't do any better", but in actualy fact I have all the confidence in the world that, bar the fitness side of things, I could.

Brown - One bad game makes him a failure? He's been pretty decent up until last night.
Coveny - Agreed, he needs to retire
Leilei - Agreed. He doesn't have the maturity to play for this team.
Paston - See Brown.
Daniel - Hasn't had much of a chance this year thanks to Leilei taking his spot. Give him a few starts and then I'd judge him.

The real worry for me out of last night is Lochy, wtf has happened to him? Is it his head space because you don't become a very average player over night. No confidence, no pace. His combination with Daniel was a highlight for me last year and this year he hasn't gelled with person going down his flank for the most part

Brown played well against Sydney and other than that he's been average.  Daniel has been average, punctuated by the odd good bit of football that has kept everybody satisfied for the month or so between his next genuine input - overall 4/10.  And I think Paston should be dropped, it'll show him that performances like that aren't good enough and will hopefully get him to work harder for a spot.

The consensus of opinion is that R. Keane may have had a 'Rosko-Leilei moment' with Lochead during his trial....now lacks self confidence.

Huh???

Lochy trialled at Middlesborough for Gareth Southgate, not Sunderland.

Just to add about Lochead.  How many defenders out there would not of hesitated to drop a player if he is heading one on one and likely to score. Take the red card and be done with it. At least Ruka wouldn't of made it to goal, and to lose with 10 men because you wore you heart on your sleeve, rather than letting a player run away and finish the game off, earns pride!!!

Yeah I think that performance will (should?) silence his fan club.

Although "the answer to all our woes" vacancy was starting to be filled by Draper even before Costa got on the field to prove his doubters right.

Harsh, and I'm sure he's going to be a great player, but right now he's not what we need.

Of course he's not what we need. He's a striker, not a manager.

(runs)

On a serious note, I'd still rather him starting than Covs.

Sack Covs, to old and ads nothing. Runs and tries but gets no where.

Start Costa, adds pace.. I think him, Gao and Daniel could fire up with through balls.

Costa was still better than Covs when he came on. Costa might be a winger but really almost anythings better than Coveny.

I dont think old Concorde Southgate would worry me too much, but if Roy Keane eyeballed me it might put the sh*ts up me.

What the hell do we do now anyway, with the squad we have got?

For me , Covs has to go, but we really dont seem to have anyone to replace him.
Draper seems the only option, maybe he has to be given his go, so that one week later we can write him off as well.

Can Daniel do worse than Gao ? Maybe we need to find out.
Personally Id still rather have Moss in for Paston, but that aint gonna fix the way we are playing.

Ferrrante deserves a go, but after that WHAT ?
