I had heard before the game they pre-sold about 6000 tickets. If that was true, why did those extra people not show up?

Im just wondering if some of them were freebies that may have been giving away in promotions or something? ZMs Black Thunder do it up here, so maybe they couldve done something similar down there, just handing out heaps of tickets to randoms hoping that they might show up

I'd forgotten how friggin dull Fred is on the Sky commentary. Just goes on an on about his interpretation of the way the teams play generally. How about you commentate on what is happening? You don't hear english commentators prattling on like he does.

Dull as fark is old Fred. Imagine listening to him on a daily basis.  His only valid point was Brown was slow and off the pace..

Hardly.

They were probably chanting in their head "Same ol' Ahmad. Always campaigning".

Yeah I noticed that, Captain Black or what. Got the Smiths or listening to Dark Side of the Moon on his Ipod? Anyone know this guy needs to get him on here to explain why he looks so pissed off.

What an absolutely SUPERB trip. The stuff of dreams.

Apart from the little tet-a-tet with BasiL Fawlty when we were checking into Livingspace, I really could not have faulted anything the whole trip... well, except for the worst fish and chips ever served, anywhere in the world at any time. What was with those?

A massive thankyou to Ahmad for a massive contribution to making the trip a stunnign success. The recommendation of the Jaguar Limos to and from the airport alone would have had you forever in my debt. If you are ever going back to dunedin, the Jaguar Limos are the ONLY way to get from the airport into the city. Cheaper than a taxi, leather seats, air conditioned... direct door to door with engaging friendly knowledgable drivers. Bloody awesome. At $150 each way for two cars it was a bargain too. 8 of us, so $20 each, each way.

Thanks also to Anthony and everyone else in the Fever Southern chapter. The Longroom before the game, organising our tickets to the game, and having them dropped off at our hotel, with a Wind Rain Phoenix banner greeting us at reception... it's the little touches... top stuff. Craft bar after the game, with everyone celebrating the 2- 0 victory. Spine tingling.

A special well done to Patrick too for the 2/3 signs idea. They rocked. well done everyone who made them and held them up.

Some cracking good humour chants too... Nakajima-Foran's "You've got too many syllables" and Berisha's "You've got bird-sh1t on your head..." were great, as was "The wheels have fallen off, Brisbane, Brisbane..."

The Roar blokes at Craft Bar were tops too. Great to see you and have a beer with you.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

On your flight down did the Pilot welcome the Nix fans aboard as they headed south for the game like I instructed him to?

By the way the Nix MUST return to Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Not that I remember but the co-pilot on the way back this lunchtime did say "And I'd like to thank the Phoenix Fans for keeping their shirts on towards the end of the journey" after we touched down.

I'm slightly disappointed!

LOL shirts off with 10 to go?

The message was supposed to be passed onto your captain for the journey down but maybe he's not a Nix fan lol.

No.

But on the flight on the way home, when we landed, the pilot welcomed everyone to Wellington etc., and then thanked the Phoenix fans for keeping their shirts on during the flight.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

That was quite funny when it happened. I feel a little bit sorry for our friend Ivan 'Frankie' Franjic, some of the chants we came up with were brilliant. Honorable mention to Matt 'There's no J in' Jurman as well.

I think I owe you a beer at the Backbencher, our crazy goal celebrations were definitely to blame for at least one of those beers being spilled.

Well mate,, gastronomically, the Dunedin trip didn't quite live up to the Auckland affair. Having said that, the Hub Gourment Pies at the stadium were DEFINITELY "the best pies, in the league..." They were awesome. And the big breakfast at Mash on Thursday morning was great.

But otherwise, the food was weak. (although the 2 for one deal at the Longroom was excellent value, and quite tasty too).

^^^ Fixed. All I did was help Ahmad where I could. He put the whole thing together and deserves the credit. The whole day/night will go down as one of the highlights of my Nix experience.
