Please come back.
That was my three beers so i guess i was the fantastic one.................you see that El Grap - i am the man!

I think I owe you a beer at the Backbencher, our crazy goal celebrations were definitely to blame for at least one of those beers being spilled.
I'll take you up on that my friend!

I've just made up a REALLY cheesy Christmas song for the Nix.

Should I delete it?

That's brilliant. Is there a link to that on the internet?

I didn't see the game (don't have Sky), didn't see it streamed on the interweb either but I did see the goal highlights on the news. What struck me was, because it's an indoor stadium, it sounded like there was way more than the 5 - 6k at the game when the goals were scored.

Just read on Dompost website that the FFA gave Forsyth Barr Stadium the stamp of approval for next season. Very nice venue but surely they wouldn't get the bums on seats to be financially viable, would they?

Hopefully they'd be ok with 15,000 turning up.

I think everyone has acknowledged the timing for this was crap. Remember $15k there for preseason friendly, admittedly some may have been there to see the new stadium, but it is well worth giving it another shot on a Saturday when the Scarf draggers are there.

yeah, but, well.

If the current policy is for Welnix to take ONE home game away and FFA have ONE regional game (which btw doesn't have to be in NZ), then it will depend on either Welnix saying it is Dunners turn (assuming ChCh still not having a ground and that the Tron, Napier (?) or RoD are not putting their hands up as well), or the FFA wanting to repoeat it.

Not averse to an expensive trip down South, but would also like to go to ChCh if it is ready (for us) next season.

The other regional games are in Morwell, Bathurst, Launceston and Campbelltown. I've heard of two of those but not exactly sure where any of them are. I like the idea of the regional round but I don't think it has been implemented at all well.

It was mentioned, that we might ask GCU to bring a home game against us to NZ. They did this for an Adelaide game. Would be nice next year to have 12 games in Wellington, 1 in ChCh, another regional game in Dunedin and a GCU home game in Auckland.

I'm editing together a Yellow Fever highlights package, taken from the broadcast footage. Should have it up on YouTube very soon.

Anyone want to get a preview to the special Nix Christmas song I'm recording?

Donate! http://bit.ly/southnix

I'm a perfectionist so have to re-record but it should be ready soon even though my voice is still destroyed after Wednesday.

Sorry Ahmad. I donated to it last year and have recently done so to a friend's charitable trust. There's a limit to my charity!

Ok after about a million re-takes I finally gave up being perfect and released this year's #1 Phoenix Christmas Carol - "Ricki's Christmas".

If you are a Facebook user I would really appreciate your "Likes" for this song. The Nix site says that the winner will lead the Ring of Fire in a "stirring rendition" of the song this coming Friday - I would be incredibly honoured if I was chosen for this.

Thanks for your support (and yes this is Dunedin match related as you'll come to see):

Having been away from the laptop for a few days, here's my chance to post my thoughts.

If I was the Phoenix, I would have a game in Dunedin again but I would have it as a 3pm/5pm kick off on a Saturday and play it either in august or September to catch the students. I think many mum & dads stayed away with it being a midweek game.

That's the negative.

Now the positive. My first ever trip to Dunedin and I was blown away by the friendliness of the locals. It has a fairly compactish shopping area which is chock full of big name stores as well as locals. The older architecture of a lot of buildings made for some interesting and awesome sites. The Cadbury tour is a must. I scored about $20 worth of free roses chocolates! Right across the road, I had an excellent room at the Quest motel.

The stadium is brilliant. you have a view right on the touch line, even at ground level. NOT 50 yards away (ROD style). I think with any sort of crowd, the noise would be great. It was with even a small crowd of over 4k. The stadium is a real credit to Dunedin. Great to have pre-match drinks organised at one of the best cricket grounds I have seen.

Forget Auckland, next year if we cant play in CHCH, I thoroughly recommend Dunedin.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

The stadium is truly fantastic for football. Sure you'd expect me to say that but honestly chanting "linesman give us a wave" from only a few metres away and having him smirk gives you an idea of how close you are to the action. As someone said you could almost spit on the players.

Fair comment, but the league did not start until early October.

Forget Akl, despite Akl getting 20k.

Wow.

Three for me, and two for them.

Speaking for myself, I will book a trip to Dunedin in a heartbeat, no questions asked. It's EASILY the best away trip I have done, and I can't wait to go back. I ESPECIALLY can't wait to be in that kick-arse stadium with a big crowd. Oh man, how good will that be?

I _REALLY_ enjoyed the Auckland trip, and I'd do that again too. Luckily, if there is an Auckland trip and a Dunedin trip, I'll be able to do them both, but if I could only do one, and had to chose, I'd be going back to Dunedin.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
