Yeah I bagged him about 6 weeks ago so need to own up to that.

It's not hating to have expectations of someone of his calibre and then expect him to deliver on them. Just because we're playing a TINA system up front with Chen poor and Costa exciting, but not yet a dependable or composed striker doesn't mean there aren't alternatives to the up front tactics we were using.

Why would you put Ifill on holding up the ball duties? When he got wide we nearly scored.

Also the last two times we've played Sydney they've schooled us on how to pass a football...It's not about having one midfielder who can pass it's about the whole team knowing where each other will be and having the skills to play a quick passing game.

In reality, if we want to continue playing a "target man" type game, without Greeny, we may even be better off playing  someone like Durante or Ferante in that role ( I know they are not necessarily the answer) but we need someone strong enough to hold the ball and ride a challange in that role. While Ifill can do it ok, we miss his creative talents more than what he brings in a Targentman role.

I wonder if the match looked any better live. It certainly was absolute rubbish to watch on the telly. We could have still been playing and would not have scored. On a slightly brighter note, I thought McKain was okay given his layoff (despite what was definitely a penalty), Troy was reasonably sound, Crowther did what was necessary desppite a few scares with clearances. Bertos looked tired flat and disinterested, Caceras was rubbish, Lia was no better. The Wheels seem to have fallen off since 14 Nov!

Short answer was nope! I think you summed it up nicely. We didn't play well.

And you are lucky if you didn't make the journey IMO. We were surrounded by redneck hicks yelling things like "kick him in the n#ts" and "score a goal" etc. Sure didnt like the 'chicken wire' in our view.
And it would have not been as windy if someone had turned that fan off and the end of the field.
Or was that to power the lights?

Thankfully we moved at half time and found a better place and on a positive was a lot closer to the players than normal. Will upload some pics to the galley tonight...

I wanted to start a chant of "we've got the best windmill in the league"

We'd already had "Windmill..windmill..windmill" & "Windmill, give us a wave, windmill, windmill, give us a wave"

Slight difference between his tackle and punching somebody while the ball's not even in play, LG.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Apart from the t**sers who ripped the buckets up and threw them when the game finished.  One hit my auntie in the face . and then told me to f**k off back to Wellington when I gave them a mouthful

Other than that, I had a fab time in Palmy, nice one guys for teeing up the Speights Alehouse

Been said before, but warrants repeating - was a completely different kettle of fish.  Lets save the whinging for situations we are really hard done by.

I missed all this as I was talking to a mate I know from work over the other side of the stadium and Vickmiest was not very forthcoming with who it was when I came back.

Think it was those young lads in the middle though obviously with the buckets.

Tragically the whole thing has been declared a success by the club - therefore doomed to happen again.

I sincerely hope not. If we have to play a home game away, can it be either Porirua Park or Napier??

I doubt it (and I live in the region).

Napier, you would be talking about Park Island i presume? McLean Park was being used/prepared for the cricket test so wouldn't have been available. Park Island is nothing more than a club ground with a grandstand, not the same infrastructure that Palmy had [food/drink etc]it would have struggled to hold 6,500.

Yes but the crowd would have been close to the pitch and created an awesome atmosphere.

If you are not into hair extensions and hairpieces that can make you look more and more attractive, then forget it. There is a whole world of buying cheap hair wigs then you'll never understand.

Now, can you direct me to the Merkin section.....
