if you know something tellus...

it's not like it's wiki leaks, although you'd think it was top secret info judging by NZF's lack of communication

Hearing there'll be three youth internationals. Rest are pretty easy to pick....

Surprisingly little impact on the Phoenix there.

Would have liked to see Chettleburgh get a run out again, but he's not one of Ricki's favourite people.

Glad to see some of the u17's getting a run. This might be the closest they get to a competative run before the u17 judging by the fact the team is yet to be announced and no friendlies prior to the tournament have been announced yet.

Perhaps NZF looked at our draw and said, too tough. Best to save our money... or asking for an extra 500 was maybe taking things too far.

surely siggy's suspension is only from FIFA international games not some warmup gimmick......I'm suprises ricki has selected any nix players given it's an 'a' team selection and the nix guys would probably benefit more from playing in the nix squad.

Spoonley will be starting for the Nix.

well duh, hence the confusion, this isn't a warm up for the AW's its a preseason warm uo for the nix......my question is more around why the nix players were even available for him to select. They are after all not NZ 'A' plers they are already in the starting lineup for the top team.

I would expect Ernie is keen to see what options he has when the AW's are away so he's happy for RH to pick whoever he likes.

did he not achieve this during the OSN cup? I would have thought this close to the start of the season he would be wanting to get his starting 11 out on the pitch as often as he could surely?
though I'm backing ricki's decision to include the nix lads.

Agreed, assuming he knows what his starting Xl is... I wouldn't think he does yet - this means he gets to see more of his squad in what should be a fairly competitive game against a motivated opposition (they're all playing for their respective places).

I haven't had time to really chase it to be honest. I've just flicked them an email now so will see what they come back with.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

....Ricky and Ernie met in a bar last week to select both teams.......notsure sure what Fenton has done wrong in Rickys eyes...i guess he is too "small" but he should in ahead of Leo

Fenton's never played a professional game at full back - I think it's fair enough to wait and see how he goes.  I suspect siggy stays with phoenix because Merrick wants to run shadow side that will play in round one, which will include him

agree with that - fenton is yet to play a pro game at FB - you can't expect him to be picked there at an international level before he plays a league game.

You can't say that. There have been plenty of calls for him in the WC play offs and those people are always right *facepalm*

Looking forward to this game. Football in Rotorua, yay!

The last time I saw football in RVegas was when the Kingz had a preseason game at the International Stadium. That's a long time ago!!
