My WSW sauce has told me our outfield players are 17, 27, 3, 13, 14, 5, 10 21, 9 & 11. Anyone got a squad number list handy?

Are we playing good?

Going by twitter is all one way traffic for WSW.

WSW's Twitter always focuses only on them.

Would've wanted Waine to start to see if he can keep scoring and now against quality opponents

Sounds like it was a decent test for most of our first team.

Is Sotirio trying to prove a point?

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

Click the pic link for the video. Seems like Marinovic misjudged that? Maybe it moved late on him, hard to see on that angle.

Sorry but that was bad goal keeping.

Looked a pretty even share of the highlights. Sotirio's goal just tapping in a rebound of a good Ball strike. Marinovic some very good saves. Midfield looked like it was winning a fair amount of possession.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

we looked better of the two you could say?

Will back Marinovic but defo hope Sail gets some opportunities throughout the season.

Cheers for the highlights - good quality for a closed session.

Seems like both teams need some defensive practise, the back pass to Marionvic - no!!

If all A-League sides are rusty defensively - maybe we should start our most attacking line-up.

We looked competitive. But hard to tell in pre season matches.

Close to our top team less Piscopo and Fenton. All our imports on the park at the same time. Which was good to see.

Compared to WSW who played two quite different line ups, so had more youth players involved from what I could tell. Also missing Duke and Jurman.

Still looked like a well needed hit out against better quality opposition. Away from home.

Looks like Fenton came on in the second half.

I think he hasn't judged it well due to the sun in his eyes and the ball going from being in the shadow to out of it and possible appearing to come quicker.

That's what it looked to me, there's no way he goes from the right position to the wrong.

The camera angle makes it hard to see but does the ball come off the arm of the nix player

The ball is the dark spot where his elbow would be.

Yeah could tell as soon as Marinovic started to reach back to his right that it had taken a deflection. Very tough to save those.

Had a good game otherwise from what I've seen, apart from DeVere stitching him up.

Probably a deflection, but he conceded a goal in the MLS for Vancouver, that wasn't a disimilar look ie misreading flight and getting off balance. From memory that goal, didn't make him overl popular with many of the Whitecaps fans.

Some decent stuff there, Sotirio looks a little donkey-ish but we're obviously targeting a replacement for him.  McCowatt is going to score goals.

Liked the look of Steinmenn

He looked very confident on the bench....I'm concerned with a few players, style of play. I guess we need a few real games to judge.

I watched the Davi F game and thought it looked pretty average, sure some players had individual moments but the first 2-3 goals where pure luck. They did not played out from the back that one young Aussie player complained a lot, I thought it wasn’t a good watch. I liked Steinmann, no frills football.

I remember last year watching David Williams and thought, that guy has some nice touches, he and Krishna combined nicely. This year, they all looked like last year pre-season Burns.

But people here convinced me it’s all normal. I hope the imports will deliver something more special.

Hmmm, I think those people you were talking to are being optimistic - which is not a crime - but this is a re-building season with a young side.

If we can finish out of the bottom four, and pref are knocking around just below the top 4 I'd be happy enough. Could up my expectations if we signed a very good striker. Taylor, Steinmann, Davilla and not a bad striker with Piscopo and the likes of Waine, Louis and Cacace. Might not be world beating but worth a watch.

They've looked extremely ordinary every preseason, so where there's life there's hope.

I'm not particular pessimistic, it's just an assessment. But I'm sick of rebuilding seasons, we have to many in a row. I also want to be entertained. Good start would to trash the Bitumens.

That's nice for you and your pessimism - but meanwhile, back in the real world of the Phoenix season, they have replaced/lost half the squad from last year - and many of the replacements haven't played an A-League season - yet.

So you can change the word rebuilding with underperforming but the fact is - it is a rebuilding season with next year looking brighter.

So like a lot of us you have already written the season off until next year.
