can’t be giving burgess a hard time. One of the loveliest guys you’ll meet, after a couple of messages on Instagram he took the time out each week to thank me for coming out and then gave me his playing boots from the season. True legend. Although he hasn’t seemed to have been in the squad for pre season.

True. As per any returning player - Smeltz, Kosta, they got a few doses of "Judas" but after that it calmed down - as it should. These guys are professional and at the end of the day, they have to look after number 1 first. I think Durante would laugh at a couple of Judas calls but not if it were consistently going on. He did his bit for us, he was paid, he has moved on. We should too.

jeepers is football fans got over anything easily there would be no actual rivals in football - they way this has panned out is actually good for the league, we have a genuine reason to be upset at Rudan and by association Snakes FC. This is how rivalries start and end up being fixtures that are talked about and looked forward to every year. Way better than league created rivalries.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Or non football rivalries as well.

Like Boston Red Sox selling Babe Ruth to NY Yankees, after Sox had won a few World Series, and then going on a 86 year drought (Curse of the Bambino).

What would be the best long standing football rivalry (excluding derbies, and simple geo political stuff), based on some sort of dustup?

What doesn't add up to me then is, if Rudan felt the club no longer supported him and his ambitions, then why would he recommend the club to his mate Uffie, who then took the job???

I think what is a given, is that if Rudan didn't assist Welnix with getting a replacement coach signed early on in his mate Ufuk - Dome & Co would have unloaded on Rudan more in the media, for leaving them in the lurch.

So Rudan did himself a big favour there, not copping too much flak from the club itself when he left, even if his antics helped derail the tail end of the season.

Then Talay says apart from Durante, he really would have let the players go anyway.

Meanwhile Nix's marketing department get a free leg up, with a genuine rival/public enemy and hopefully 1st game bumper crowd.

I think him saying that was just an excuse for him to pin the blame on the board.

What is it about Patrick that encourages demented people to go after him? Watto, Rudes, the NZF person who saw his doppelgänger at NHS?

If you are traveling down by car, be sure to add extra time in case of any delays. Its the end of school holidays, so traffic is bound to be rather heavy heading south.

Yep I'm happy we seem to have a genuine rival. I'm keen on blowing off some steam and giving the snakes a bit of an earful, but I'll also be there to mainly support my team. Can't wait to fly down this weekend! I'm sure I have a USB laying around somewhere...

Most of the interviews in the press have been from the club playing down any rivalry.

Can we get someone from YF to be interviewed to put across the fan perspective and help build some hype?

Classic A-League. That Taylor interview was fudgeing stupid, to put it blunt.

The club missed an opportunity here. Instead of those thunder sticks, if they gave fans inflatable snakes to bang together, it could have been on a winner! ;)

Yeah, I want McCowatt to start but I guarantee he will be on the bench with Sotorio starting.
