Most surprising thing for me was Rufer somehow being able to resist the urge to pick up his 5th yellow card of the season

didn't see anything but I was at the opposite end of the stadium so it might have happened. If it did I hope they get bans.

Not sure but I heard, and saw, a police car sirens on and everything turn into the stadium as I was walking home.

Legendary Game.
I don’t like to over analyze the performance. We got somehow a point out of this and stay top of the league, crowd sounded amazing. What a night.

I was sitting right next to the away section, there were a few hand bags. That's about it. Wouldn't say they stormed them.

Wow, I guess we were a bit lucky to get away with a draw, but it shows what great belief the team has in itself. Surman and Wootton terrific. Rufer and Pennington excellent. Impressed with how much Old and LKH upped their games in the second half. Oskar VH has really started to have an impact. Ka pai!

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Think we were unlucky to concede to be honest, they never looked likely and it too a fluke deflection. But that's what happens when you're under sustained pressure I guess.

The frustrating thing was we were slow to start both halves.

To be fair we got lucky they ballsed up an earlier chance.  So we got lucky there and unlucky to concede a lucky deflection sp kinda evened out.

Some young fellas got chirpy to the Victory Crowd after the goal, next thing both sides were  all in. Victory supports from higher up in the stands came running down to join in as well. Got broken up pretty fast. I've seen a lot worse in the UK to be honest.

12th April, VUC return to the ROF. 3rd installment already shapes as a must watch. Both teams you suspect will be near the top of the table, and will be some feeling to the occasion.

9,139? The zone was its fullest for several years and 23-30 were full. I reckon between 11-12k more like it. Yes, I know they closed off 1 half of it but, that was certainly a lot more than 9k.

We've now moved from "they're falsifying the numbers because they're too small" to "they're falsifying the numbers because they're too big" :D

But yeah, on Reddit and Twitter the Vuc fans are actually arguing, with their bare faces hanging out, that APL "want the Nix to win the league". Why?!? Why would they do that? Do they think they feel sorry for us?

lol, it was so the other way, VAR took every opportunity to deny a clear pen for us in the first half and then upgraded a yellow to red on very little evidence. The pen we got in the end was down to VAR feeling guilty for tryng to sccupper our season.

RB next game is going to an issue, does Sutton start there? if so who is tthe back up full back? Don't think Pennington is the answer.

... wait, what's all this about the TT? I knew that they split from YF mainly because they wanted to be, how shall we put this delicately, "politically incorrect", but criminals?

I maybe wrong but I think he is saying there were calls we should have gotten and the two we did get, well, one was offside and the other was a soft pen to be honest. Having said this. Payne AND Kosta were on the rough end of some very dubious tackles that received no punishment.

Just such a huge result for our season… we were equal to them in the first half and created some decent chances… fully believe we might have stolen it if it wasn’t for the red card (which was the correct call)… but a draw is a great result - especially the manner in which we did it… COYN!!

I think the outrage of the victory fans is more indicative of how infrequently bad calls go against them and they're throwing their toys out of the pram. I've seen probably over a hundred of them claiming it's the single worst decision in the league's history and that there needs to be an investigation. Watched it again this morning in case I was wrong, but it just is a pen. Madness

How good has Rufer been this season?

The amount of times he’s nicked the ball back off opposition, made a key tackle, pinpoint long ball, etc.

Not to mention his new-found goal-scoring abilities. What a legend.

Just going back to the pen, I think Kosta did the right thing letting Rufer take it. Kosta probably remembered he's missed his only two penalty attempts with us and understood that while this was a great chance for him to break a Phoenix scoring record, a very valuable point was on the line at the same time.

The captain stepped up and delivered!

Remember when A League referees were targeting or appeared to be targeting Rufer and giving him cards for anything. He's matured a lot and although he sits on 4 for this season, if you take into account the roles he has been given, 4 is not a large amount. He is "nicking" back a lot of possession, like Pennington. They're not perfect but they put in a lot of work and effort.

I was surprised and amused when Rufer scored, Pennington ran back onto the field over to Paulsen and they were both celebrating. It meant a lot and it says that this is a happy squad. They look out for each other.
