You are alive this morning! You are probably able to afford things like the Internet which enables you to read football forums! You are possibly doing so whilst eating your breakfast or sitting at your desk at your job! I could go on...

Some people in our own communities do not have access to some of these, or in many case, any of the things listed above. Nobody likes to see their team get pumped but at the end of the day most of us have a lot to be thankful for.

It seems for you 90% of players are the worst in the league, but I can think of plenty worse strikers. Ive always liked Williams. Even for the Fury he was one of the few that made things happen.
Guess you don't like people with different opinions to yourself.
At least I watched the whole game.
Whoa whoa whoa. You just didn't do a pot kettle black thing did you Leggy? I know I am a miserable cunt but you sit right beside me when it comes to people not liking your own opinion.

Haha i reckon.

Ok Leggy, you watched more of the game than I did. Now tell me, what did i miss out on after walking out at 4-zip that i hadn't already seen up until that point of the match...?

I know when to hang around, I know when to not waste me time. If we were actually playing decent footy, I would've stayed. Ive sat through plenty of losses, but that was by far the worst. Not only did we get smashed result wise, we got smashed across every area of the park. There wasnt anything to see. There wasnt even a glimmer of hope to suggest anything was about to change for the remainder of the game.

But if bagging me on this makes you think of yourself as being more of a fan than others then congrats to you. I dont need to justify myself as being any more or less of a fan than anyone, to anyone. Ive paid for my season ticket and i turned up - so im an avid fan as far as myself and the club are concerned. Hope you head along to the next home game Leggy, i know i will :)

AJ, don't get your knickers in a twist. It started because I said I did not rate Williams. You do. So what? Both are opinions. I have watched him since 2006 and he would have to perform like that a lot more often for me to change my views. He was excellent yesterday. Good on him.

2 BIG areas of our game that we lacked yesterday:
-PRESSING GAME
-BALL RETENTION

Both stemmed from our midfield combinations. Hicks and Cunningham are both big sinners when it comes to stray passes. Hicks put the team under pressure a lot with his passing yesterday. I was in double digits counting his giveaways so subbing him was correct.

Our midfield can not handle those 2 and Carlos. Lia had way too much to do. He strays forward a bit too often to play in the Riera role.

The other obvious hole in our lineup:
BROCKIE STARTED?

Ernie has repeatedly stated that good performances lead to more chances. Boyd did his time on the bench and performed for weeks before he started. Brockie literally had don't nothing positive since his goal against victory.

Starting Brockie meant stein had less space. The beauty of Boyd and Stein up top is that Boyd runs off of waffles which frees him up a lot more to turn. Boyd also tracks his fullback incredibly well. The Newcastle game highlights the job he did on Gallaway at left back. Brockie also slows our transition a lot as he is lethargic when receiving the ball and slows the play down a lot. The pressing game was also affected by Brockie.

Definitely a blip but there are underlying issues that needs the be fixed. The hardest one is the loss of Riera

Holy Moly I thought i was the only one. Brockie has not got the tactical and mental awareness to play with anyone else up front, or even in the a-league really. Therefore he should not play. Time after time Him and Huysegems made The Exact.Same.Run. Neither of them realise that doing that makes them both incredibly easy to mark. They kept ending up in the same spot, in the middle of the box. Boyd may not have the goals, but his movement has created several. Its not about what you do just on the ball, but what you do off it. Boyd works incredibly hard. Brockie hardly even runs, unless its to try to shut down the keeper, which annoys the heck out of me.
Am i the only one that notices Lia becomes a passenger after about 35 minutes every single game? He doesn't have the legs. Hicks may make mistakes, and Ridenton might be inexperienced, but if we play them, they will get better. Lia will not. I would be interested to know how many 'Key' Passes Lia has made this season, as every game him and Riera played, Riera outshone him. 2 Goals in 150 games for a midfielder is not good enough. Remeber Tim Brown anyone? 6 goals a season.

A thoughtful post JV. Come on guys, one bad result doesn't deserve all this forum angst. Every team has off days, ask Arsenal. Just suck it up and get down to the next home game and cheer them on even more. That's what being a football fan is all about. Sometimes a spanking can be a good wake-up call and perhaps some compacency had crept in with the previous good results.

Let's face it- Engelaar is the player we wish we had brought in. And the Heart missed him massively at the start of the season. Riera has been fantastic, but now we are back up shite creek.

I think you just move on and upwards from a result like that, not a lot left to say - but can't ignore the gaping hole in central midfield which needs to be corrected for the next game.  Siggy was back to his old trick rushing up out of defence, which was a pretty understandable response to our non-existent midfield.  But at times it was a bit suicidal.  I thought Hicks really had a poor game and was rightly subbed - gives the ball away far too cheaply.  I've said all season that Riera makes Lia looked good and I think that game showed it - Riera is so mobile and covers so much ground he's a really tough player to replace.  He really was unable to impose himself on the game at all.

You have to ask now what is Brockie's future at the club?

Brockie has approximately 2 months left at the club IMO.

As for auctioning charity strips, 2 things would be required to sell more:

1) the strips shouldn't be rubbish and contain colours that aren't even ours

2) we should not lose 5-0 while wearing them

Sadly for the charity I'm not sure these will be bestsellers

yeah the next game is going to be the key - sadly it's against CCM away. No Reira was a huge loss for us - he would have put so much pressure on the Heart mids and they wouldn't have had as much time to shoot like they did. Engellar's first goal was mint, but he has an age to hit it as well as he did, Lia and Hicks do not offer the same defensive/playmaking work as Lia/Reira.
