I phoned the Phoenix hotline today and got Brenda. She e-mailed me a ticket straight away in aisle 9. She told me she was finishing at 3pm today and not back until the 7th of January and that other Ticketek staff would have to help if my friends also wanted tickets. Had a friend phone after 3pm wanting to get a ticket from their season pass and was told they didn't know how to do it and to phone back on the 7th when Brenda is back.

That's allgood everyone just stand and there will be a max of a couple of vocally annoyed people.  Also this game has to crack 10k

16,700 fans would put us 4th on average attendance. A bit high but just shows us how close we are. 13,100 fans would give us an average attendance of 10,000. I would say that 13,100 mark has to be the goal. Also this ignores our next home game at the rof

Big box in the middle of the "Purchase Tickets" screen, hardly hidden away. I get what you're saying, but if a customer chooses to ignore a message like this then I doubt that anything else would get through.

Ever been to a Phoenix game outside of Wellington? There are ALWAYS people there griping about us standing. Every single time. I agree with you that there's no helping people but honestly, that message is buried. It really is. It's in the fourth line of the third section of the page (counting the header/menu bar). Any usability study will tell you less than 10% of people will read that. It needs to be in a separate screen or window where it is the ONLY piece of information with an [PK] button, or virtually no one will read it, let alone remember it weeks later at the actual game

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

Is there a pub or anything people hit before the game ?

What if the tickets were called "Yellow Fever Zone Standing".

People more curious could then read into what it entails (if they get a seat etc).  that way they are actually selecting standing "seats".

We've asked for them to be changed to exactly that after the Fourth Annual Auckland Debacle a month ago (well actually Yellow Fever Standing Zone, but close enough).

Nix sent that request through to Ticketek for us but doesn't appear that the change has been made yet. But I agree that this is a good way to mitigate the problem.

Yellow Fever Standing Zone is better.  But that would be good if they could fix that.  If someone buys a standing zone ticket then they only have themselves to blame if there is standing going on.

So I am not able to attend this game (Got a wedding to go to), but I have claimed my member tickets anyway as PDFs and sent them to a friend in Christchurch to go to the game.

I encourage others to do this also, if you don't know anyone in Christchurch let me know and we can arrange for your tickets to go to someone. The more people we get to the game, the better #Metrics.

Can contact me at Matt at yellowfever dot co dot nz.

Can claim your tickets by calling Ticketek with your member number 04 384 2457

Brilliant idea Matt!
Season members can also buy extra tickets for the match with a 20% discount for any friends you have in CHCH.

It will be interesting to see if Luis Garcia creates any additional interest in this game
The Mariners obviously think there'll be a lot of interest in Gosford as they've said there will be a bay set aside for Liverpool fans on Saturday night when the club hosts the Wanderers

Tickets? Tickets? We talkin’ about tickets?

Doubt it tbh. Everyone who knows who Luis Garcia is will be going anyway I'd say. We get 1 professional match a year in CHCH, all the football heads go, it just trying to get the others in that's the issue.

I dunno, there's a lot of Eurosnobs out there who look down their noses at the A League but might go along if they hear there's an ex-EPL player on the pitch. They'll probably then spend 90 minutes going on about how shark the A League is but it's still bums on seats!

True. It'll be more interesting to see if Garcia creates additional interest in CCM when they're playing away. But it's a tricky metric to measure.

Didn't see huge evidence of Liverpool Bay for Garcia (though it was signposted); a few pasty Scousers wearing their colours.

Easily 3-4,000 Wanderers fans in that croud metric.

In the National Youth League final it was boys v men as Sydney easily accounted for Adelaide 5-2.

Sorry if this is mentioned somewhere more obvious but are there buses to and from the stadium from somewhere in the central city? If not, what is the easiest way to get there? I guess I could take a cab but it might be pricey.

The Metroinfo site ( http://www.metroinfo.co.nz/ ) has a pretty decent trip planner.
Haven't heard anything about special buses so the orange route would be your best bet. Goes through town then down Lincoln Road (about a 5/10 minute walk from the stadium) about every 15/20 minutes between 4 & 6pm. It'll take about 30 min from town to the stadium. Getting back it runs half hourly from 9:30 on. If you're heading in from the suburbs get the Orbiter which does a loop of the inner suburbs (doesn't go through the city center) and has stops on Whiteleigh ave which is also a 5/10 minute walk from the stadium.

Yip both out for 5 yellows, think Siggy is out so that leaves either Moss or Manny to be captain I think.
