No brainer..it was obvious on the first match day that the lights wouldnt cope with late kickoff. 

Well yeah, so pretty much FFA's fault for letting it all go ahead. You think one of the first things they wouldve done is had someone look at the lights 7pm-9pm and say "Oh not enough light, lets get more lights or just make sure games are played earlier"

Just ask everyone to bring a torch. Sorted.

not sure about that. FFA set the minimum lightening level. Nix probably said they could meet it. And turns out they couldn't. Pretty obvious months ago it wouldn't be sufficient so don't know why test were only being done this week.

Anyone who has been at the ground and seen the lighting setup will not be surprised by this.

Still their fault for taking our word for it. If you want something done the way you want it, you do it yourself.

I'm going on old memory here but there is a minimum amount of LUX required for night time TV broadcast and floodlights are given a LUX rating as a matter of course. I'd imagine that the rating of these lights was listed as being good enough but some bright spark [see what I did there?] would have seen them in action and thought "I don't think they are going to be bright enough' - tested them and sure enough - not up to scratch. Understandable how it might have happened but shouldn't have really.

Agreed. As someone who resides out of Wellington and cant only make it to a handful of matches a season this attitude disappoints me a lot. 

If you cant make 5pm kick offs for whatever reason then I feel genuinely sorry for you, but throwing your toys because of something out od your control changed is a bit over the top in my opinion.

I don't feel I have to justify my post but I will.

I am an out of town supporter with kids that play cricket so cant get away till late afternoon, this 7pm kickoff was going to be ideal for us  I had manged to book cheap flights for late afternoon and arranged a car and accommodation so we as a family could attend this game. Earlier notice would have been more than helpful to supporters and if you bothered to read previous pages in this subject you will see a number of posters commenting on the late notice of this time change.

Post what you like now as I dont think I'll can back here for a while.

I'm sure you purchased event insurance on the flights since you left such a fine margin. 

Surely that's the risk you take in booking flights etc to turn up just before the game. 

Understand you're frustrated, but it's just an unfortunate circumstance in your case.

Not surprising at all, the lights were poor and those on the cranes were incredibly dazzling I found.

No doubt some people will be unable to make it, but 5pm is  a much better time for the Hutt Rec, for the bouncy castles, for the kids, and for me, so I will be taking extra

Yes, we can't forget the children, think of them and walking the dogs....

To be honest, the club and especially the FFA can expect a lot of flack on this. They can also expect a lower gate as a result of some not getting their emails, texts etc for various reasons. Perhaps they dont have either for example. Yes, there are some who don't. Gonna be funny if a huge croud show up as the game is finishing.

I wonder if the FFA would play this type of stunt on WSW or Victory? Yes I know that the lighting might be an issue but why not have made it a 5pm game in the first place like the previous two games?

I really sympathise with those whom have been inconvenienced. I just hope my work colleague comes to the party. Will know Thursday night for definate.
