over reaction much?

Agreed. As someone who resides out of Wellington and cant only make it to a handful of matches a season this attitude disappoints me a lot.

If you cant make 5pm kick offs for whatever reason then I feel genuinely sorry for you, but throwing your toys because of something out od your control changed is a bit over the top in my opinion.

As someone from out of town ( as am I) I am suprised with your attitude and you can stick your opinion C-Diddy.

As usual on this forum uninformed idiots are quick to post dumb comments.

I don't feel I have to justify my post but I will.

I am an out of town supporter with kids that play cricket so cant get away till late afternoon, this 7pm kickoff was going to be ideal for us  I had manged to book cheap flights for late afternoon and arranged a car and accommodation so we as a family could attend this game. Earlier notice would have been more than helpful to supporters and if you bothered to read previous pages in this subject you will see a number of posters commenting on the late notice of this time change.

Post what you like now as I dont think I'll can back here for a while.

I think you have every right to be pissed off. I'm sure everyone involved tried their hardest to try to ensure the lights were up to standard but really this should have been sorted much before now. 3- 4 days out? Quite poor.

I've got a few friends who were going to the Martinborough fair and the 7pm kick off would have worked out perfectly.  Not sure if they'll try to do both now, or skip the Nix altogether.

As an out of town traveller as well, it works out better for me. I'll be home two hours earlier. Like someone else said, why didn't they just make it 5pm like the last two games.

Swings and roundabouts.

Piss poor effort by those in charge and I can appreciate the late notice stuffs up plans for some and I'm disappointed for those who now can't make it. Someones arse should be kicked hard.

But don't wipe your arse with your tickets before throwing them out of your cot as there will also be some who because of the change now are able (or willing) to go. Think of the children.

To be honest, the club and especially the FFA can expect a lot of flack on this. They can also expect a lower gate as a result of some not getting their emails, texts etc for various reasons. Perhaps they dont have either for example. Yes, there are some who don't. Gonna be funny if a huge croud show up as the game is finishing.

I wonder if the FFA would play this type of stunt on WSW or Victory? Yes I know that the lighting might be an issue but why not have made it a 5pm game in the first place like the previous two games?

I really sympathise with those whom have been inconvenienced. I just hope my work colleague comes to the party. Will know Thursday night for definate.

Sounds like a terrible dose of the flu / ebola / bird flu / Sars / PMT you have coming on LG!

Anyone know the precise nature of the lights problem?

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Sounds like they are 500 lux (enough for a pro football match incidently) but 1500 is needed for TV.

Just been asked "why not go ahead with the game, at 7pm,  and not worry about televising it?'  With some further chat about whether fans count or not.

Suggested reply/ies?

I assume there's contractual obligations - the club gets a share of TV revenue and as a result must meet broadcast requirements. If it won't be light enough then they have to play it at a time when there will be. Also, I assume other sponsorship deals like Huawei and Carlsberg are based on reaching the TV  audience, which is much larger than the croud at the game.

changing it to 5pm is hardly a massive inconvenience to fans (except traveller), while the game not being televised is a massive inconvenience to not only sky and fox, but also to many more fans who wanted to watch the game on TV.

Seems more than a fair compromise to me. Still worried about the light toward the end of the game since the weather isn't supposed to be great

Sky will have to decide if it will reschedule it's replay of the Oamaru Possum Throwing Championship (2003) to screen the game live.

Perhaps as the Fever, we gave a 90 minute collective moon, it might be bright enough to bring the lighting up to scratch. RBB would be jealous. Find out tomorrow if I am going to make it on time, might have to come straight from work.

A few days after the game v Jets, I was chatting to my friend who worked on the game.  They told me that they were so concerned about the light situation at the Hutt Rec, that the game may have to be moved.  Ring of Dirt came up as an option as was rescheduling it to another date!

Needless to say the right option was taken, though pretty sharke it came up 4 days prior to the game.

Probably a case of the people working on it letting the higher ups know it's not suitable, but certain people sticking their fingers in their ears and singing LA LA LALA

Don't think that anyone is saying it's the wrong decision, are they? It's more the ridiculously short notice when everyone has been saying it will be a problem for weeks. That is quite inexcusable.
