Classic Nix...constructing at the oppositions end...dominating even...cant put a goal in then get stung on the counter at the other end....I think Italiano should have been given some time from a couple of weeks ago.

That's fine, my point is that it was a minutes silence DURING THE GAME. They asked us to stand up while the ball was in play and be quite. A round of applause through the 53rd minute would have been great but some muppet thought otherwise.

It was a minutes applause though. Not silence.

I can't find an answer to this either. Clearly a goal.

yep, 100% a goal.

Agreed. Durante for TWO years is beyond belief and McGlinchey, who I believe is on a very decent wedge, I just don't feel is even worth renewing. Lazy and incredibly inconsistent.

Thing with Dura is that we should have been grooming a young guy (or two) to take his spot over the last three seasons. Boxall leaving was out of our hands, so given we only had Fox signed as a CB for next year it makes sense to give Dura another contract.

And I suspect his second year of the extension will be in a role similar to what Siggy has been doing this year.

Looking good for next season resigning all these players that weren't good enough this year.Take a photo of the league stick on the wall but just change the year. Ernie has to have a performance clause in his contract can't have another season like this with the same players

Well that was dire. Hard to know where to start. This season is obviously a write-off but I'd still like the team to look like they care and want to win. Also, our defending of set pieces has been abysmal this year, we are leaving players unmarked in dangerous positions way too often.

We just have too many players who aren't good enough for a starting lineup to challenge for Top 4, and ultimately win the League, where the top sides have moved on from us.

Many are useful squad players, but that's about it.

Adelaide were excellent, technically better and faster, and with cutting edge around the box. Looks like Guillermo Amor will finish the job after Gombau's spadework. It reminded me of when Brisbane took us apart here, and went onto win the League.

Only positive from last night is that it should make slice and dice decisions easier for Ernie and the owners. No-one's going to turnup to watch such lack of cut and thrust at home, and from existing players who aren't up to be starting.

On the plus side we did string some nice passing moves together now and then. We just couldn't shoot or defend to save ourselves.

After suffering so much for far too long and being frustrated at the ongoing licence crap, last night performance pissed me off so much, I left 5 mins before the end. With nothing to lose, a future guaranteed, I expectdd the players to be relaxed and play some good stuff.

I was drastically wrong. Adelaide looked good as they soaked up our attacked  and then did not fudge around on the counter attack. If only our attack would do the same  instead of everyone holding the ball up. It looked indecisive and looked like no one wanted to take responsibility for shooting.

Sorry Jeff but at least Watson tried chasing after the ball. I think he could be useful once setled in.

Fixed spelling yet again.

I didn't go.  I have been supporter since 07 with YF shirts to prove it.  I bought a Nix 6 when the metrics were needed.  haven't used any of them.  Im not going to spend $40 per match getting to match and having something to eat and drink to watch what is currently being dished up.  Maybe next year if they change more players and style.  We just look flat, laboured and bereft of general attacking ides and fizz.

This does my head in also.

I am unable to attend as man games as I would like due to family commitments and being geographically challenged. If I manage to get to one of the last few home matches this season I will be doing so in the appreciation that one day I may still have a professional football club for my children to support and just because I love it so much!

I feel the ones who are now not attending and citing poor performances are the ones that were bitching about the FFA possibly taking away "Thier" club.

So much this seems many are just bandwagon jumpers only to happy to take the ride when things are good But stay away  when things get tough yet still want to classed as fans/suppolrters.

I think Watto is an average player but would be an okay Plan B. If he's our Plan A for next season then I'd be very worried.

well I went last night but sort of wish I hadn't. I thought we were ok in small spells but cant or will not take a shot, instead trying to walk it in. Adelaide caught us the counter very successfully. Some very lazy stuff in the defence I feel. I find it odd that the people  who operate the announcements for reason known only to themselves decided that Krishna was in the matchday squad and then about halfway through through decided to announce that martyn Crowe had passed away while the match was in full play. All in all a disappointing night and maybe we need to be a bit more far sweeping in the players that we let go

ps I cant stand the music they currently play in the stadium ( but then that my problem)

I don't think anyone is criticising people on here who don't go to games because of family or work or geography or anything like that. I think it's when people don't go but have no excuse other than the poor form or the club's attitude or something like that that people are getting wound up.

I don't want to tell people what they should do with their money and time - if people don't want to go to games then that's fine. Each to their own. But I do get pissed off if people who call themselves fans and were fighting to save the club and bitching about the FFA then just decide that because we are on a bad run of form they are going to stay home. Didn't the whole metrics/savethenix thing make us realise that the club is dependent not only on the goodwill of the FFA but on the support of the people of Wellington?

Yes we are in shark form. Yes this has been a frustrating season. Yes it is annoying to watch the team roll over meekly and get smashed by Adelaide. But this is the exact time when the club needs the fans. We need to keep getting good crowds. We need to have a great atmosphere so that if a random comes along they want to come back.

When results are going against us the casuals won't turn up to bolster the crowds. The publicity that the Nix in particular and football in NZ in general has had recently has been horrible, and we are fighting the start of the Super rugby season for public attention too. The only way we will maintain decent crowds at this point is if all the fans who are emotionally invested in this club get their arses through the gates at home games.

Plus bigger crowds drive the team on and make better results more likely!

I didn't get too upset with the result, disappointing as it was. It was typical of a second-from-bottom team which, despite a few surprising recent results, we very definitely are.

Mind you, it's not like we have a monopoly on substandard defending. Anyone who watched Friday night's game between WSW and Roar will have seen some laughably poor stuff - and these two teams are both title contenders. Might sound crazy but even with a creaky defence we are just two quality signings away from a top four place next season.
