Shouldn't be coming on, his head isn't with the Nix anymore. Waste of a sub!

Can see the difference between these teams. Skill level similar. We've got too soft a centre, though.

Or Perth are hoof ball fouling thugs with a lunatic coach

They walked through our midfield that last 20.

All in all it was probably a fair result.

Entertaining game. Shows the difference between top and less top team. Still all shark, we needed a win.

we should have closed that out at 3-1, fudgeing awful second half!

They were all over us that last 25 minutes. Some very good finishing that game. Disappointed with a few runs in the box that didn't end with a shot from the Nix.

I don't feel that disappointed. They had us on the ropes for the last 25 minutes and we at least showed some guts to stick and there and get a point against a very good Perth team. Fantastic high tempo game and the most enjoyment I've had from a Nix game in a long, long time.

Surely its not part of  the game plan but our midfield are running away and hiding in the back four letting them attack at will.

Disappointing, but also wasn't expecting a point so can't complain too much. Happy to drive Bonevacia to the airport.

It does feel like a loss but I am happy that we are playing better and are competitive against a top 4 team, Even if we make it to 6th we will more than likely be bundled out in the first round of semis. We are playing better but still a very long way from challenging to win the comp.

New Yellow Fever chant for the next 90 minutes:

'C'mon You Reds!'

Spain '82 is where it all really began for me. There were a few moments before, plenty of moments after, but that World Cup was the zeitgeist.

Yep. Enjoyed that apart from the way we couldn't stay with them the final 20mins or so.  When good sides put the heat on us in midfield we don't have the pace to not get opened up.  And the fullback area remains a bit of a vulnerability.  So it all becomes a challenge to hang on.

Thought Perth realised they were giving us too easy a time and just increased the defensive pressure and intensity, and upped the pace of transition.

Bonavacia didn't bring much, if anything. Harsh, I know, but I think he's been more part of the problem than the solution for two years.

Good game though.  Always feels good when we score a few.

Ha ha ha, Nix still unbeaten in Auckland! :) Great night's entertainment.

Guy bagging Mossy is an imbecile, he saved our bacon regularly. But I could make the same comment about Roly and WSW.

Crowd relatively good, better than Mt Smart and competing with cricket.

Our best tonight: Ridenton, Krishna.
Good tonight: Lia, Smeltzy, Gui, the ref
Quite good: Kosta
Satisfactory: Moss, Dura, Fox, Parkhouse, A Rod
Disappointing: Roly, Doyle.
Looked like a good atmosphere in the crowd.

Oi Oi Edgecumbe... lets have a clean sheet

Yeah...real mixed bag from Kosta. His decision making was mostly really poor but he still got a goal and was involved in setting up another.

I for one am glad we're keeping Gui and loosing Bonevacia based in that performance.

Roly obviously can't be arsed anymore.

I've got to say, from where I was sitting Yellow Fever sounded really good tonight (particularly first half).

Very enjoyable evening even if the end result was a little disappointing. As usual it makes me sad (and a little jealous) that Auckland doesn't have its own team.

I walked away from that in the stadium happy to have seen Krishna, Smeltz and Barbarouses firing and happy we hung on for points. I should feel disappointed, but I don't.

Thought the attendance was decent considering. YF gave it a bit, but wish we'd had more to sing about as the game closed up. Needed more defensive subs earlier and not Roly, unfortunately.

Entertaining game for the neutral, gutted we couldn't hold on to the lead. Looks like WSW drew against Adelaide, makes next week the most crucial game of the season. If we win, we leap frog them and jump in 6th (assuming Newcastle and CCM drop points); however if we lose, it's pretty much season over.

I said today I feel that some of our players are sleeping giants who have actually been hibernating...

and today I think they stirred a little...that was a team in the top 3 and we ran all over them in the first half.

Yeah, a pity this wasn't happening in round 7 or 8 instead of 22. Unfortunately we've probably left it too late and have too many hard games coming up to scrape into the playoffs, but at least there is a whiff of self belief around the club for a change.

Finkler went off and we fell apart, not bad for a player who hasn't fired all season.

Yep, first game he has earned his paycheck. Sounds like he might be injured which would be typical.
