Parkhouse shouldn't have done it, and it should have been dealt with internally. Buckingham didn't throw Rolly and Doyle under the bus for whatever their infringement was, which was surely larger than playing with a bit of a stomach bug.

It was a heat of the moment comment of someone that knows that he probably doesn't have a job in a couple of months, so it was understandable. Buckingham is young himself.

It was cold and calculated to deflect the blame off the team and himself. Very poor, pleased he is going to go eventually

also, the Parkhouse situation and Moss's comments show a bit of insight into a team which is turning on itself I think. I commented a few weeks ago that at halftime in our thrashing to City their players were looking like a cohesive team who liked each other and were in it together and our guys looked like a bus check of dejected individuals who happened to be wearing the same uniform. Now we've got people swiping at others in public. Not a good sign.

This right here. I profess I had no real idea of this until this article.

Moss strikes me as a straight shooter that doesn't spin a yarn and his commentary indeed shows a lot of internal conflict.

The problem you have is if those players are there next year (and it seems Roly is the target of that comment and most likely won't be) then the new coach has to nail that before he starts or it will just keep manifesting.

Grumpy old bastard alert

A Rod was pulled at 45mins in that game.  Just saying.

Are we being over sold this supposed pipeline then Smithy because whatever it is it dosnt seem to be delivering guys capable of competing for regular spots.Maybe the guys we are producing just arnt good enough if thats the case lets stop sugar coating it for them and pretending they are better than they actually.

You're not being sold anything. Whether the kids are being oversold who knows.

I think there are signs that a couple of prospects are emerging. Singh seems to be the next great hope. I like Liam Wood. But it's still a trawling exercise. Find good players, keep them around until you decide if they're useful and if they don't turn out to be up to much cut them loose and look for the next one.

Thing is though the Academy seems to be the only part of the club that's running smoothly! Perhaps people just have too high hopes for it. The time when we'll see a team stacked full of Academy graduates is: never.

Isn't it a little strange that we had Rojas and Kosta come through (obviously Rojas was a special case, but still..) in a reasonably short time frame - and Fenton, for that matter - but since then no others have pushed on? And Fenton has regressed spectacularly (with a poor run of injuries, to be fair)?

Even then Kosta struggled to get on the pitch. We're far too resistant to play our young players in a league where

1) We are kak already

2) There is no relegation.

Even Ridenton who is finally getting a run is only getting a run out of position at right back. How is he supposed to gain confidence playing there?

Yeah, it's odd. We have this huge advantage over the rest of the league in that we have a captive pool of players that no other team has access to but we've never really utilised it.  Ernie and Welnix were better than Ricki and Teri, but not good enough.

Other teams have utilised young NZ players better than we have..

Roux/Kosta/Rojas/WeeMac were/are all important players for their Australian clubs.
