Kid's Day Out. Bouncy castle and all that jazz.

Also, you may get to witness a massacre of the field. Keep the kids away from that.

the reds looked very good in attack against sydney. but if matt thompson can score against them surely we can too!

we need another performance like we pulled at eden park.

Yep. And I'll be down for this one too. Dig deep guys. It's about finding your inner mojo.

It's a MUST WIN.

Again  :-(

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

No. We could still drop 1 more game if other results go our way. 4 points outside the top 6, 2 wins...

I prefer to think of it as 'It would be extremely helpful to win this one'

Irrespective of the maths, I think I'll stick to my view of this one!  ;-)

Sky's ads still reckon the game is on at 5, so at least if we get hammered no one will be watching.

I'd like us to change the game plan a little bit this weekend.  I think we're playing for pride only now but I think for next season we do need a bit more variety.

We tend to overwhelm teams with pressure when we're playing well but we're not a great counter attacking team and we tend to need a lot of pressure to score goals, meaning we have to commit a lot of players forward.  That has lead to a few of the shellackings when we give the ball up too easily.  When we're good we're quite relentless in pressing forward but because we do attack in numbers if we're having an off day and lose possession we get picked off easily

Billy Hill has us at £2.75, and them at £2.40.

Still pretty good odds (for them).

regardless of what I'm thnking the result will be I'm always excited to be going to watch the nix play at home........y'all should be too, you know what it's like when we don't have them here.

We know we can beat any team on any day - sure injuries have struck us down, if I was an LB I'd be worried with the Warriors playing the day beforehand.

Lol at Sky advertising 5pm kick off. Was never at that time on the Sunday.
Was Sunday @ 7 then got moved to Saturday @ 5, then Sunday @ 3.

If course I am very tired so could be wrong. ;-)

If there is a correlation  between lack of activity on a pre match thread. the prevailing sense of doom and the forthcoming result we are going to be rogered within an inch of our lives on Sunday afternoon. It does not even look like the weather will come to our rescue.

Is it too soon to roll out the "Avoid The Spoon" banner?

Coz y'know, we're doomed etc etc....

nah spoon is Perth's, they are in the same boat as us, have to win at least 2 to avoid the spoon and hope results go their way - there is no way they are doing that and us not get any points from the ensuing games.

Screw avoiding the spoon lets concentrate on avoiding the number 5.

I don't think I could handle another 5 goal thrashing.

LOL...you did say a while back that we might not win another game this season. So far its been 2 draws and a rodgering!!!!  It would be a real downer if we could'nt at least roll one of Adelaide or Sydney or Victory. Beating Sydney and ruining their playoff hopes would give us all a boost at least.

Took some visitors to Nix training today.....lovely day for it. They played a full opposed practice game. Everyone looked lively and really got stuck in. Only changes in the "A" team were Rufer in midfield and Brockie up front with Stein. Krishna and Boyd ran with the "B"'s. Wouldn't read too much into that though. Ernie spent quite a while one on one with Brockie prematch....lots of pointing and arm waving. Rufer got lots of tutouring by just about everyone throughout the match. He went OK but physically he looks like a schoolboy....not sure he would be up to the grind of A-League midfield yet. It was only a practice match but standouts were Boyd...who looked really good and Timmins is a class above most of the other defenders. The "B"'s had a young black kid playing LB....looked OK. Anyone know who he was?
Carlos trained by himself and didnt kick a ball. He was putting in an big effort running around the cones and doing laps....don't think we will see him this weekend unless he can do match training later this week. The edge of the field looked like a hospital ward....all the walking wounded. When you see them all together you realise how many injured we have.

Great update Austin

Re - Rufer. I actually think he is a technically better footballer than Ridenton. I just don't think despite his height, his body is ready for pro football yet where as Ridentons seems to be. If he was wispy quick like a Marco or Ryan Thomas, I would say leave him as he is but being an engine room tall pencil thin midfielder, he'll need to hit the weights and if he is smart he should already be smashing them.
