Are you allowed to accidentally knee people in the head?

Perth seems to be doing a lot of fouls. Almost like they can keep doing it with no cards.

just little niggly hacks, annoying but not card worthy.

Jeez we've been pretty woeful for the last 25 minutes. Won't matter if we keep the lead though.

Can we spend some time on the ball please now.

Or just plan to play the last 15 without touching it, and just let Perth come in waves.  Perth deserve to halve this.  Thank God they don't have Castro, we could be 3-2 down now.

it's almost like our desire to score goals went when Hoops was subbed.

Ah Louis, what kind of ball is that? Just send it back through the back line FFS.

Our midfield seems to have given up a bit, hence Perth pressure (plus theyre stretching it wide nicely)

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

the best I can say is it should give the team a massive mental boost knowing they can hold a win.

aside from that I don't know what the fudge I just watched for the last 25 minutes.

Could be just lack of game practice from Devlin.  I expect him to do better against Adelaide after this game

Thank F for that wasnt pretty but we got there. Think Talay needs to make sure we have secured 2nd before to much rotation. Seems some of the subs are way to early cant recall such early subs earlier in the season

Lots of legs getting game fit.  I think we're running at about 2/3rds still. Looking forward to them getting fully up to speed.

I reckon Uffie is seeing things from closer up than we do. But yeah, it's all a calculated risk.

Having 5 subs gives a coach a lot more leeway now.

Massive Win.

Tired looking bodies. tough turn around to play Adelaide in 3 days.

That last twenty minutes was a tough watch. Great win though. You can see that many of the players are far from 100% match fit. First thing that goes is the technique. Playing again on Saturday is going to be tough in many of them, especially the high work rate players.

Excellent game from McCowatt. He looks to have improved his body strength. His driving forward with the ball was a good outlet. Good cameo from Hudson-Wihongi too! Ingram had a good game for Perth. Great to see so many kiwi youngsters making the grade.

Hard watch in the last half hour. Given we had one more day than Perth since the last game, why were our legs the more wooden?

Great run from Hoops to get in front of the defender, amazing strength to hold him off and fabulous technique to find the back of the net while off balance.

Much better shift from Davilla this week. Back to what we expect from him.

McCowatt has earned his place in the starting lineup. MOTM?

Another good shift from Ball.

We will miss Steinmann next week.

McCowatt was great. Agreed MOTM.

Needs to get his head up a bit more when running with the ball, but I loved that run where he was basically rugby tackled by the defender and he just keep powering on rather than giving up for the foul.

So happy I stayed up for the game last night. Great effort, but I want to be picky I think Matti should have been dragged at HT as he had a terrible game. Devlin also faded around the 75 minute mark and could have used some fresh legs next to him to help him out.

Also not impressed with how we started panicking after the Perth scored and elected to give 100% of the possession away. We had Ball and Sotirio on who are fast, why not try to use them to counter attack??

But it was a gutsy win and I'm proud of the boys. Shame we didn't get the three points vs Sydney as it would change everything at this point, not so much for the title race which I think SFC would have had in the bag regardless of the last two matches, but for the race to 2nd spot.

Might not have been pretty in the end but just shows how this team has developed under Talay. Many Nix teams from the past would have turned that over in the last 15 minutes. Dont think any of the other sides will be wanting us in the finals and Sydney must be sharkting themselves because despite results they havnt handled us at all.
