Apart from the dumb goal and the offside we'd have had a good chance of taking this. The game plan is starting to fall into place. Still plenty to look forward to for the season.

MoM Brockie. Goal and otherwise got well involved.

Front three worked well together and the midfield improved. Will adjust better to the high FBs from next week.

lets start with whatever formation that was at the end.. With ifill brockie upfront, mid three of hicks, muscat and bertos and then the back four

Well, we still lost despite all the cliches about 'taking positives' etc etc.

Certainly don't help ourselves at times.

4 games, zero wins. Some good signs but many of the old failings remain - poor defending, misplaced passes, stupid fouls, and needless bookings.

+1 Midfield should really have been better with essentially three DMs in it. Would like Lia dropped and Riera and Hicks (or even Boxall) tried with Muscat.

Muscat copped a bit of flak but I thought he was decent, especially in the second half.
