In his defense Sarpong hasn't been with the squad for as long as Appiah. I hope they both come good, But so far they have been flat.

Sorry Royz, but Rufer, Ridenton, and Gulley have all had way more minutes to prove themselves. In fact I just looked it up and I was surprised by how many more.

According to ultimate A-League Ridenton has gotten 44 minutes over 2 games, Rufer 88 minutes over 2 games, and Gulley 257 minutes over 3 games.

Guess how many minutes Appiah has gotten? He has played 8 minutes over 4 games. It's pretty hard to make an impact when you have 2 minutes on average per game to do it. Two of those stints were only 1 minute.

I'm not saying he's a star, or even very good. He's played plenty for WSW and never scored, but he has had some form in pre-season and strikers tend to do well when playing against their old club, especially when there were allegedly issues between him and the team before he left. So I thought Ernie should have chucked him on to see what that extra motivation can do.

is there footage of the elbow that hit siggie in the head?

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

You could see it in the replay at the time. I wouldn't say it was on purpose but it was definitely a reckless, not given, foul.

How did it compare to the elbow in Patrick's avatar?

People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis. You can't trust people.

Hmm, not great metrics there.

Without wanting to sound like a great apologist here, there were two concerts on that will have accounted for some viewers.  I missed watching the game live to be subjected to Elton John (although I did record it so no idea if I appear in the metrix).  I suspect Tegal was probably the same.

Whether it would make a material difference is another point entirely :)

You can bet if it had been Siggy doing the given he would be up on a charge.Going to be interesting to see if match review guys do any thing.

Not comparable, Patrick avatars should be straight red and 3 games ban, the foul against Siggy was more a clash mid air, he was coming from behind and his elbow was close to his body as far as I remember. I did not looked there was much in it.

Not really the point. Sarpong is objectively a better player than Appiah so we need to get him contributing.

"He's [Sarpong] having trouble understanding the way we play," Merrick said.

"He played his best game last week, and it was unlucky not to score - he hit the post and had another shot saved.

"But the high-energy games, he's just not quite with it. The striker's got to rely on service, knowing when to run and the timing of runs and direction."

Guess he still needs more time to adjust to his new role.

60k people (Fleetwood Mac in Auckland) is quite a small number to take out of the potential audience. I guess one of those concerts was in Wellington, so maybe that affects it a little more. But I don't think it would have lowered the viewership too significantly.

The English Championship getting more viewers shows much eurosnobbery.

At first I thought he might be a better fit as a second half sub once the tempo of the game drops off.

But unfortunately against WSW it was just us that slowed down (WeeMac was barely able to jog in the end).

Actually, getting outplayed quite a bit these days

I think that is a bit desperate.

A balancing counter - It was a miserable night in Auckland, so there would have been more people home to watch it !

Wondering how many how many watched it in Aus
