Our recent form has been good, CCM are winless this season... so time for some good ol' "Let's watch the Phoenix play our opponents back into form".

Going to be a good full on sporting day for me.  Test cricket at the Basin followed by the Nix.

Hope it is a nice day.

Yeah but Rufer is shark, Rudan can't coach and Kurto is a waste of an import spot.

Better?

I'd forgotten the Test was on. I'm going to treat myself to a after lunch bit of Test cricket before the Nix game.

Fenton is the weakest link and was never a wing-back, Dura is over it and should be no where near the starting 11, Burns is woefully out of form, Cacace isn't techincally good enough for this level, Singh has forgotten how to shoot, Mandi is a roadcone, if Kopa can't even start the first few games he should be on a plane back to Poland, we can't score from open play and the owners don't give a shark.

I think that's every common criticism of the Nix I have read on here recently.

I really don't want us losing to the CCM again. I don't think I could handle it mentally.

Any word on Kurto's recovery? Is he likely to be back for the Mariners game?

Would he have to fight for his place against Sail? Cant find a fault in Sail ATM but its not a good look to have a import sitting on the bench.

Surely you jest Royz, Kurto infinitely better.

I would not hold it against Rudan if he put Sail in and have Kurto on the bench for this game.

Nothing to do with "fighting for his spot", just a chance to give him a bit extra time off.

Still think Sail's distribution is being underrated here. Kurto's distribution has basically just been 'hoof and hope' - Sail does that sometimes, but there is a bit more nuance to his. Rudan mentioned it post-match too.

Both very different keepers, I think Sail's covering at the back is brilliant - when he comes out of the box and tidies stuff up. Kurto sits inside his box and is a great stopped .Distribution is key to Sail's game. Think we'll see Kurto back this week though.

The good new is, the last time I missed a home game we won against Victory and Burns scored a hat trick.

I'm not huge on how many of Sail's blocks seem to bounce back into the 18 yard box. Other than that he's been good but Kurto has shown something extra. Gotta be in if he's available.

Kurto will return if fit, he's better than Sail but it's great that we're having this discussion. Also, nothing wrong with an import sitting on the bench espeacially if it's a sign of a competitive squad.

In terms of imports sitting on the bench, remember, up until just a couple of weeks ago Kopa was not even making the bench.

if Kurto is only just fit, I would prefer that he sat out another week, but on the bench if needed.  He is clearly the best keeper but in the last one and three quarters games, Sail has proved he is perfectly adequate.  If we do not beat CCM, I doubt it will be because of goal keeping.

Agreed. Being an import does not mean "shaking off a concussion twice as fast as a non-visa player".

Kurto passed all required concussion tests prior to the Sydney match and sat out as a precaution. if the medical staff are happy he's ok then none of us are in a better position than them to question that and he should walk back into the XI

Then he's just taking up a space that a local player could fill. #SackTheBoard #WeNeedBetterImports

have to agree. Kurto is head and shoulders better I think, I know it's hard to tell cos you never see them side by side, but Kurto would be my pick.
