Well, is it possible in the future to split male and female and have one from each get a weeks training with the 'Nix?
That makes no sense. I still don't understand what benefit a young up and coming female footballer is going to get by training with a professional mens team. I still don't actually understand why the competition is open to female entries?
Wouldn't a female footballer get the same benefit as a male footballer, the chance to train in a professional environment for a week?
As some have said earlier, this is not about being a scout for the 'Nix more at giving a deserving young footballer a wonderful experience that will hopefully be beneficial in their future endeavours.
You've got to be mindful of the way a player would fit into training though.
I mean, Hard News would, by your logic, get the same benefit - but even if he was 18 again he wouldn't be a chance to win.
That is why you and Ricki would select the best of both the female and male finalists. An extremely talented female football player would not be ridiculously out of depth from training with the 'Nix, a full international like Renee Leota. We could be helping out the next Marta!
At the moment it seems that why bother with allowing female entrants, you expect them not to get enough votes to get to the final few where you will have to show your true colours and not select them no matter how deserving or talented they are.
Save them the hassle of entering and getting their hopes up and make it that they must be male, i.e. eligible to be selected for a youth spot in the 'Nix, not just meet the age criteria.
