Have noticed that none of the players have listed the Wellington Phoenix as a pro club they support (as a fan of). And one player mentioned a desire to play professionally in NZ.

Shame they can't all win the scholarship.

I like the sound of these guys - how many of them played in the reserve squad last year?

Watson - 90kg at 18, must be a big lad. A potential target man of sorts?

Apart from Watson they all look short and light weight even for 17-18
But I supose if I saw Kosta`s and Marco`s bio I would say the same
Main attribute must be pace then?

Still waiting on info from the other shortlisted players.  If nothing arrives by Friday it'll be shortlist of four.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yeah, short player are sh*t. Just look at Messi, Cannavaro, R. Carlos, Maradonna etc. Its the size of their heart, not the size of the person that makes a good player (my god that was cheesy)

Its no longer a problem.

Corey also plays for the HBU youth team and got joint golden boot with Hamish Watson at the NCR tournament, albeit in the satelite comp.

Pity he supports the Arse, may have to vote for someone else now.

Its no longer a problem.

Perhaps they just know a good team when they see one.

Three for me, and two for them.

Sure.

With Xmas bearing down upon us, we're going to run the voting in January.

I can confirm that Reece Lambert never responded so will not be part of the voting.

Just which member of the Lower Hutt U19 side are you?

What about that Tom Biss kid from Napier. You think hes decent enough?
Permalink Permalink
about 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Regarding Tom Biss. I do think he Would be worth a shot although Voting is closed. He has the ability to run all day. Great touch, Great technique although he does tend to play backwards/safe alot but watching him play in youth tournaments and also Nzfc and the Phoenix reserves last year he has improved this and has become very attack minded and defiantly has what seems to be a good attitude.

All the best to the current applicants. Looking like the winner will be Fenton. Who has been possibly on of the top rookies this season.
Permalink Permalink

Yeah Fenton is a fantastic player.
With Biss i've heard that he always plays backwards or forwards. To be honest dont want a midfielder that plays that way. that would annoy me and maybe others?
