Another signing - and again no one saw it coming. These boys have tight lips!

Except when they're not Australian. But I'd love the Nix to surprise us with a few more names out of the hat!

22 signed now, so 1 spot left for our visa striker.

I'm still worried we don't have enough fire power up front, I would have liked another wide forward instead of Mullen tbh. Wonder if their is anyone we could look at in the NPL to use a mature aged rookie spot on and hope to strike it lucky.

The only two with decent pace are Lovemore and De Vries. Lovemore doesn't have anything else and De Vries seems to be losing his.

Edit: the ex-Palace guy at Suburbs is still young and ain't bad - but he's a Brit. And then of course there's Moses Dyer, who seems to play anywhere and everywhere...

Rules say they have to be Aussie, I dunno if the FFA would interept that as allowing a NZ player for us. Most top NPL guys in Aussie probaby earn more than we can offer with it, so might not be tempted tbh.

Sorry, by NPL I thought you were referring to the Northern Premier League. I didn't know there's an NPL in Australia too. Thought below A-League there was the VFL and the NSWPL and the SPL...

Ah, right. The PS4 NPL. I'll try and remember it.

New striker has signed, going through Visa process and could be in the air this week.

DD would not tell Piney what continent he was coming from.

I don't blame him for not giving away clues - Nix fans have a decent track record of digging up signing prospects based on minimal info.

Fuck this stupid game

Who's currently tearing it up in the Antarctica League?

This is shaping up to be the most crap year ever.

Aging and makeshift defensive players. Barbarouses gone.  Lia biffed.  Finkler too slow.  We're totally screwed.  No chance of top four, wooden spoon candidate for sure.

Better renew my season membership though.  You never know your luck. :)

Barbarouses and Bonevacia were both dire last year and have been replaced by Vidosic, Paracki and [Unnamed International Striker]. Moss is no huge loss (although I am iffy on Italiano). Lia was a squad player past his best, A-rod hardly played. Tratt has been replaced by Galloway. Rufer and Singh in the first team proper as well.

Plenty of reasons to be optimistic and then absolutely crushed 5 games in!

Kalezic has no obligations of loyalty to any player. It's obviously Dura's last year, and so long as he gets a proper and official send-off, I don't think anyone would mind if he was moved down the pecking order like John Terry was.

He'll certainly get a few games here and there when injuries/suspensions occur, but aside from Dura, we've got a very young defensive pool

Except Dura never boofed anyone's wife/partner, unlike John Terry!! ;) Dura, when he does call time, will get a tremendous send off by everyone.

Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Anti-junx piss take chaps.

Like the new additions and better balance to the squad so far, very hopeful about the new striker.  Like the new coaching team.  Like the new logo. Like the greater connection to Wellington that brings.

Like the committment of Welnix with the new signings, coach and logo.

The academy kids look like they just may be starting to pay off the academy investment.

Like, like, like.

I am on record that we'd never win the League with Vince starting, good stallwart though he was.  I've mostly felt Bonevacia wasn't a great team player; looked good individually but did not bring out the best of players around him and moody on the field.

All looking good.

Actually as excited about the club as I've been since the first couple of years.

But we're going to win the wooden spoon. ;) He said excitedly.

Current European International. Just left his previous club. Not quite a striker, but better scoring record than both Berisha and Fornaroli had. Probably well out of our price range, but a Kosta level salary wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

15 goals in his last 71 Games when he was pretty much a goal every couple of games -  Evidence of decline of an aging striker ??

Career highlights of a 29 year old, so hard to really judge, I guess, but that was fun to watch el grap!  Decent lump with a good eye for goal, some good footwork and pace.  Made me think of Smeltz at his best but more physical.  And knew how to dive a bit so no naive slug.

Interesting that connection with Darije.

Just saw that he had cancer of some sort (see comments in thread). Would surely play a big part in career planning going forward...

Andrija Kaludjerovic?

Random guy on Twitter tagged me in a tweet saying that we are gonna sign a former Roar striker, he is unattached atm & better than the likes of Kurtishi & JCS (only other visa strikers I can recall them having other than Berisha)

He was also at Brisbane at the same time Rado was assistant there.
