To be honest, I'd take that money and reinvest it in the overall squad. You can have a fantastic goal scorer but if they don't get service or you're heavily shipping goals (both realistic problems for us), then there's little point if you can't address the core issues.

We already have Kadjulerovic, who is just that. We may have lost Vidosic, another proven goalscorer, and we should replace him, especially that Krishna was unavailable and Singh is just too young to be a permanent fixture (but should get decent time on the park every game if possible).

I agree though that shipping goals is an issue. Having said that, apart from this game, we have not shipped that many since the game against Newcastle.

I think you missed my original point. What I was getting at, is that if we $10m to spend on a single player, I would rather invest it in the overall squad than buy a one player. We have little to no depth and players who clearly aren't performing/good enough.

Watson warming up puts more fear into our fans and the club doctors than the opposition.

The salary cap means that most of it would have to go on 2 players though (Is it still 2 marquees? The FFA change the criteria so often I can't keep up. I think if one of them is Tim Cahill you get an extra marquee spot?)

good suprising means Bozanic or Burns, or even Golgol Mebrahtu.. Bad suprising means guys like Billy Celeski, Labinot Haliti or Diogo Ferreira. If this world was a Utopia though we would be signing Goodwin or Jeggo or Halloran

I was hoping for Obafemi Martins but there is no way the biggest club in Asia will let their star player go.

good player but he's a bit of a trouble maker/diva - think Fat Hernandez/Sarpong/Barbarouses/Finkler

Who ever the new Aussie is I bet we will be disappointed. If I don’t get my hopes up maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.

If anyone knows anything just say, this is largely an anonymous and unofficial forum. We need some excitement right now, some positive confirmation that we're actually doing good things, WHO IS THE AUSSIE????

At least say if it is one of the following: Nathan Burns, Oli Bozanic, Craig Goodwin, Ben Halloran, David Williams, Scott McDonald, Golgol Mebrahtu, Jimmy Jeggo, Timmy Cahill, Mitchell Duke, James Holland, Terry Antonis, Bernie Ibini, Kenneth Dougall. Thats such a large pool of players with good and bad, come on Tonya

Damn, I'd give thumbs up to Ibini. I was always frustrated that, no matter what team he was in, he always seemed to cut through our defence. I thought maybe the Nix had a problem with West Africans and we should sign one of our own, but of course Sarpong proved me wrong.

If it is Cahill will the FFA give us the cash for his salary seeing as he's such a massive draw for the league?

Dadi was great apart from THAT penalty

Nah we've got a spare import spot - Finkler's

Edit: wait, I forgot we're getting that other Serbian guy from Lithuania. Never mind

To be fair theres actually only a few on here I wouldn't take, and I'd give an arm and a leg to have either Goodwin/Jeggo/Holland/Halloran

gotcha so currently we have an open import slot (currently) which we apparently are going to fill with another European lower league player and then we've got to fill Vidosic's spot with an Aussie/Kiwi.
