SIT in the Zone?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

If you or your employer has a supplier that has some sponsorship link to a football league any where in the world hit, the rep up for a good will gesture of some season passes to the Phoenix to loan to one of there customers as a good will gesture over the season.   It works,( I did it )- at least one of his superiors will be a pom and he will bend.  this could result in you getting use of the passes for your mates.

GO sell the idea

This all seems to be getting a bit silly.

To me it is quite simply about policing the zone - as well as other areas of the stadium.

By "policing" I mean by you / us - the true fans - if we see something amiss, it is up to us to point this out to the red badge people - they are the right ones to sort things out, without getting heavy.

I am sure true supporters will welcome idiots being escorted to other areas of the ground, rather than being chucked out (on first offense at least).

If people choose to buy a ticket in the zone area so be it - remembering that most of the seats in this area are already allocated to those who are going to renew their tickets for next yea, so there is limited opportunity for under 16's to get in anyway - and as time goes by, the average age in zone will slowly increase.

As an aside, I'm in aisle 24, and have seen this area slowly morph into a watered down version of the zone - previously quiet people hare joining in with songs / chants and giving the abuse with the best of the "hard core" yellow fever people.

cheers

New Fever Zone pass requires YF membership, costly for YF. Is it required? Ejection of trouble makers is no problem for me. What do you think?

Kids wise, I think if parents want to take their kids to the fever zone that's fine.
As long as they know that they are probably going to be exposed to a bit of beers spray and a bit of foul language every now and then...
So when do season tickets actually go on sale for 08?

What's this I hear about children not being able to get into the feverzone?

Is this like under 18 or what, because if so that will really suck for me, especially seeing as I was in feverzone every game bar one last season. It's like being able to go somewhere real awesome then being told that you can't go any longer because people think it's not suitable for people, despite being  a regular.

Do you think they would let mew in if I buy an adult ticket? It's going to be really hard to sneak in to the zone as it's going to be really conspicuous that your not an adult, as opposed to just standing in a different seat than is on your ticket.

:(

I only just read this.

Won't happen.

Yellow Fever is an UNOFFICIAL supporters' group.  We aren't part of the Phoenix.  So they'll organise their tickets as they see fit.

We'll buy them and scream our lungs out!

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

From the response I received to my email on the topic, which didn't ask the same question, I estimate the following to apply. These points are given as fact:
- if you already a season ticket holder, you can buy in the advance sales period available to existing season ticket holders.
- the seat you purchase can either be the same one you already hold or a different one.
- if you elect to take a different one, it cannot be one that belongs to a season ticket holder already.
- if you do want one that already belongs to a season ticket holder, you must wait for the public sale to see whether the incumbent has decided to renew or not.

The following is my guess:
- you can only buy as many season tickets during the advance sale as you already hold.
- that is one of the advantages of holding a season ticket i.e. ability to renew before the public get a chance to buy.

Bottom line - existing season ticket holders should get first call before people who want to become a season ticket holder for the first time, regardless of whether they have season ticket holders as friends.

thats excellent news SiNZ

Ive got some info to add as well:
called ticketek and this is what they said:

- they are awaiting the draw which will be made on February 21 to get the fixtures
- they then need to see how many home games there will be (2 additional teams coud join, the gold coast galaxy and townsville thunder)
- they will then meet and discuss prrices
- they hope to announce to season ticket holders after the final on feb 24 what the costs are going to be.
- season ticket holders they expect to call us in April, not definate though

that is all the info i have, hope this helps.

April was mentioned before and was quoted by Tamara in her email. There's no rush. This season isn't over yet. I trust Tamara will keep us informed. Surely no-one is worrying about this when we're still in February? A Feb 21 draw is surprisingly early, but I doubt we'll see anything from the A-League this side of March. Ultimately, the key question is when will they decide on expansion.

That's the big aspect. If expansions comes in for 2008/09 then the draw, the season ticket prices, essentially the entire season would require re-planning. Why would the league bother to set a schedule prior to that decision? I would not expect any public announcement, let alone season tickets to go on sale, until this is known and I doubt Ticketek's authority to accurately specify those Feb dates.

Also, given the A-League survey canvassing opinion on 4 meetings a year, it would not surprise me if changes are being considered to the season length, which would change the season ticket prices, regardless of expansion.

I can't see anyway a draw will be out before the current season has finished... last years was May or June from emory and two new teams will make that harder.

just a tad off the original season 2 topic, but the general discussion is about next season.

This seems a good a place as any to jump in.

My suggestion for next season is that shirts come off when the Phoenix are losingwith 10 minutes to play. I'm assuming many of you are like me - wrong side of 30, bodies showing the effects of too many brews. Isn't any wonder the Nix home record was so poor this season?
I think the fear factor of the sight of naked torsos in the fever zone might inspire the boys to a few more victories.

Regarding the previous discussion, this could lead to the YFZ being regarded as more "child friendly"

The club are waiting for the confirmed draw before they can do anything.  So it's with the FFA.

Draft draw has been done and it is now with FFA to release. We are working on membership prices and packages. Last year members will have first rights to renew their season memberships. Membership packages will go on sale to public around June. First game for the Phoenix will be August 17.

On sale June and first game in August, Ticketek are gonnna be under real pressure. I think they'll choke and blame anyone but themselves... cos really why would they do anything else.

Whilst Ticketek were not perfect last year, things will run much smoother this season. On the other hand, the general public needs to start thinking ahead this season in terms of season tickets and general admission instead of waiting until the last minute.

You're being too light on Ticketec. A lot of people ordered season tickets as soon as the membership packages were made available (myself included), and some had to wait until after the second home game to get their tickets.
That's simply incomprehensible incompetence.

I think its the sheer volume of requests that was the stumbling block for ticketek. I ordered my season 1 membership late, and it got to me within a week.

Helicopters = shirts/pants (any clothing item works) being spun around one's head in a helicopter motion.

True El G, but I think they'll be fine this season. I deal with a lot of ticket agencies and Ticketek are no worse than any of them. When it comes to problem resolution, my experience has put them above others. Ticketmaster are terrible for customer service - they basically ignore you if you have any problems - whereas Ticketek respond... but that's just my own experiences.

Ultimately, I think we have to let last season's debacle go and wait to see what happens this year.
