Iraq goals just grabs feeds from Justin TV and other sauces. i recommend using www.myp2p.eu and using some of the other links, they have better quality sometimes.

Totally second this. www.myp2p.eu is brilliant. Not just for football either, if there are other sports that take your fancy.

This could be the news we've been waiting for!!!!

TV Guide (Week Aug 29th- Sept 4th).
SS3: Thurs 3rd Sept, 9.30pm. Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets. (live)

Sky's first, live (non-Nix) A-League game?!!

Someone on this site earlier suggested Sky would have to honour committments to August sponsors (for the endless golf and kayaking repeats in place of live A-League?) and no  changes could happen until September.

Maybe someone who gets SKYWATCH could look to see if the Melbourne/Newcastle game is scheduled as 'live'.

If not, then this is a late change even though I suspect that times for the whole A-League season would have been given to Sky well before this SKYWATCH want to print.

Maybe I'm misreading the situation, but I think Sky may have finally caved to pressure from so many quarters - including YF and Tony P - over their scungy treatment of the A-League.

If so, this is very good news.

(The next night SS2 has the Nix/Adelaide game live at 7.30pm, but that was expected.)

No it's not - we've had two other non-Nix games live. Don't forget Sky said we would get two live games a week, but reneged on that this week.

I will believe we have good news if the other three games are either live or their delayed coverage is a matter of hours instead of days.

Edit:
Week 1 - Melbourne v Central Coast was live on Thu.
Week 2 - Central Coast v Newcastle was live on Fri.
Week 3 - no non-Nix games, but Adelaide v Gold Coast was only delayed by 3.5 hours

PS Too soon to be able to scroll far enough ahead on the EPG for the whole weekend, but Week 4 has Adelaide v North Queensland delayed by 3 hours only. The question is whether this is the same deal as this weekend, where we get a reasonable delay only at the cost of a live match.

Scribbler, We don't need John Key's say-so between consenting adults, so if 89% or more of us agree...all those in favour say "Aye"......those against....(none?)...Carried!

Spank away.

Looking at the EPG, the Friday night game is delayed three hours. Nix live. One of the Saturday games is on Monday lunchtime. No sign yet of the other two matches - presumably will appear when the EPG allows Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday next week to be displayed.

So, another week where the promise of two live matches is broken and the usual several day delay on the others.

So much for a minimum of two LIVE games a week.

Can't see how people can explain that one away, when it was promised by Sky's Head of Communication.

Only the Nix game live this weekend, mostly due to Air NZ Cup, Cricket, NRL and Tri-Nations.

BUT 5pm Sunday on Sky Sports 3 instead of showing Newcastle v Gold Coast they have

Uipm Modern Pentathlon Highlights, Rugby: This given sunday, Blackcaps on tour

So instead of back to back A-league games on a Sunday afternoon they decide to show highlights and 2 filler programmes instead.

1 fair enough, but do we really have the market to be showing 2 Australian league teams playing each other at the same time on 2 different channels?!

Yes

So we have enough NRL fans to justify having 2 games on at once, even though neither are the Warriors (who get crowds of about 15,000)?

If they chose the most important of the 2 matches and put that on, I couldn't see many NRL fans complaining that the other game wasn't on, put it that way.

Yes there is the market to justify having two NRL games on at once, guessing again I would imagine the NRL would rate at least double the A-League. Especially when you are two weeks out from finals and both games have a direct bearing on the finals, Broncs v Cowboys and Panthers v Eels.

As Hard News says though, the NRL has been given the opportunity to grow a profile over the last 20 years which the A-League hasn't got. That is the way it is though and Sky would be daft to drop one of the games.

Actually as I think about it more, what it could be is the 2nd NPC game plus an NRL game and cricket. If there are two games on Friday night they will have them both live at 7.30 then one replayed at the end of the other on one of SS1 or 2 so people can watch both games back to back.

For f**ks sake, Sydney FC vs Central Coast Mariners is supposed to be on Sky Sport 3 from 11 AM right now, yet they are still showing the f**king CURLING!!!

At home after a dentist appointment, thought I'd watch the A-League match...

Today's 11am three day delay of Central Coast v Sydney is not on. They have curling on instead. After the curling finishes, they will show a rugby league 40/20 entertainment programme.
Just spoke to sky who said, sorry the curling is live so gets preference. I pointed out that live games do not get preference when they're football and asked if that was the case why has the match been replaced with rugby. She said try the other channels, so I did - rugby SS1, rugby SS2 and rugby SS h/l....

And she couldn't tell me when the football had been moved to.

Funny how they had no problems rescheduling the LIVE curling on because of those long-term commitments they have to advertisers, etc....

But I guess curling is one of the biggest sports in the world, so it's understandable...

Considering the Live curling replaced a delayed game they squeezed in, with no advertising or sponsors, it actully makes sense.

What, so now they're 'squeezing in' coverage of A-league, despite the commitment that they'd show the matches delayed if they couldn't screen them live?

Whatever. But golf replays make it in easily. God forbid they renege on the commitment to golf in favour of LIVE sport.

Im gonna presume the curling was part of the Winter Games, think the contractual obligations they would have with the games and the government (who have sponsored the games) mean they have to show the whole event. Just guessing though
