Can't think of any time there has been a replay starting at the exact time I want to watch something I've previously recorded.

Incredibly convenient for me with work. Can't always happen to be available when its live or when a replay happens to be on. I also quite often watch a half of football as a break between studying during the day. Or an hour of baseball (ends up less once fast forwarding between innings). You can't do that with a replay. Also allows me to watch tv shows that are on (and not replayed) whilst I work at night.

Love it.

Yeah mySky is brilliant

I get it for free with my internet plan, but honestly is truly worth it even if paying for it.

My best example for me is Formula 1. I go to bed early and wake at 5am, so normally this would seriously disturb my sleep, now I can record it and watch the race at 5am when I get up before I have to go to work. Can pause it to get ready and come back and watch the rest.

Me. $180 a year for the privilege is a complete rip off. Sky are creaming everyone on that.

Fair enough. I also find its one of those things that you don't notice that you have, until you watch something that isn't in HD. Which means you don't exactly miss it if you permanently don't have it.

I just hate delayed sport. I wont even watch a Nix replay if i missed it live in the first place. I usually just check livescore and shit at work or on my phone when somethings on

Permalink Permalink

Makes sense then, you'd have no use for it.

Don't understand personally though, its the same game, the only hassle is avoiding scores. But yeah I know a lot of people who only watch games live.

I'll quite often deliberately watch games delayed. The cricket over the summer is a good example, I'd turn the tv on at 10-1030 and the cricket would just be starting, but I'd watch or do something else for an hour or 2 instead, then watch cricket from the beginning and fast forward between overs and drinks breaks.

Last year the wife had something on at 7:30pm on a Saturday night, so it was useful, I would watch first half of rugby/league/football, then she would watch her show, being able to fast forward ads, then I would watch second half of my game, both being able to see what we wanted to watch, and also a lot quicker than if I had to wait for a replay etc

I can understand this. I prefer all my sport live too, as much as I can. I tend to watch delayed the ones I'm not so interested in - S15 games not involving the hurricanes, NRL games not involving the warriors, A-League games not involving the phoenix etc etc - I watch those delayed so I can fast forward a lot of it. But my teams all get the live treatment for sure.

I still get up live for Arsenal games although to be honest there has been a couple of delayed morning watches since a baby came on the scene... Mysky has helped a lot in that respect!

This.

I only miss it when I go to my brother's place (who has it).

I will get it when the price comes down, or when I switch to Telstra (just waiting for them to sort out their t boxes which suck - or so I'm told)

Telstra T-Boxes are absolutely dire. Just had the Sky boxes re-installed at home today, couldn't handle Telstra.

Just got Sky hooked up again after having it disconnected due to not paying since they lost EPL rights. The best part about waiting for them to cut it off is that you don't need to enter into a new 12 month minimum contract when you reconnect.
