The service at the Pulled Pork Burger BBQ and the BBQ Beef Baquette BBQs is excellent. They are polite, efficient, smile, enjoy a bit of banter.

I like Fritz's Wieners, but i am ASTOUNDED that people queue as long as they do for them when RIGHT NEXT to them is the Pulled Pork BBQ stand with usually 4 or 5 peopl in the queue, and 15 metres away is the BBQ Beef Baguette stand usually with 1 - 3 people in the queue.

Only a little bti more expensive, and (IMHO) even tastier and better value...

I genuinely dismay when I see the massive queues at the chips and burger counters. Just up ther stairs at the Mezzanine bar are Chicken Schnitzel burgers and Meatballs and Pasta, and Nasi Goreng, and Vege Burritos/Enchiladas and filled rolls, and all sorts of GREAT food with small queues at competitive prices.

People are just lemmings I guess.

Which is great for the adults.

Cant we have a line that just dishes out a box of chips with sauce for the kids, one after another, you know, production line style.?

I think waiting in lines is all down to planning.

I took my 4 year old, got a big feed at 430 where lines were fairly non existant then we had a toilet stop (asked her if she was hungry and grabbed more food) half way through the first half (missed 5 mins of football) then at halftime just took her a walk to entertain her.

Really enjoyed having her there and watch pretty much all of the match.

We went down 5 mins before the end of the first half, waited for around 10-15 mins in queue and then got to the front to be told chips would be another 10 mins. My kids wanted them but I knew we'd miss the start of the 2nd half so grabbed them a hot dog instead.

I mentioned it on Twitter and included the Stadium in the tweet and they contacted me today offering 2 free tickets to one of the ODI's on the 29th or 31st.

Kudos to them for the follow up, but given the larger crowd had been signalled for days and by the Stadium folk themselves it's hard to see how they stuffed it up.

ok so a deep fryer basket at this place should hold roughly 5-6 servings of fries . 2 baskets per fryer  ( I assume ) 12 serves per fryer, 3-5 minutes per batch I think two fryers per kitchen so roughly 24 serves every 3-5 minutes   . every time you drop frozen fries into the fryer the fryer will cool down that little bit so you will have to account for this . that's why the line is so long . I guess an extra fryer wouldn't go a miss . but hey how often do we get 10k + ? not too often so not worth it .

stop complaining about fries and get a weiner!!!!!!

There are a few reasons that I won't buy food at football.

I just hate queueing, the prices are usually high and I don't need to eat in between meals.

I hate to say it but the test cricket at Basin Reserve is worse.  Got a punnet of chips and a 420ml coke on Sunday, cost $10.  $5 each. The hot dog things (sausage on stick) were $4.50.  This is the baxter caravan people.  Blatant profiteering as I have seen them charge no more than $2.50 at other events.  Other events where you can take commerical food in and they are not getting the protection from NZC/CW.

Then on eating the chips, bottom third contained some that were basically raw.  Took it back and refund was refused and no apology.  Have e-mailed CW but no reply yet

Westpac, better Gareth himself, should look into the chips issue, it's a disaster! Chips are popular and should have the same standard what we see on the field by the players. NO EXCUSES!!!

My suggestion:

They should hire a Belgium Chef who is specialized in cooking large amount of chips in the finest quality, reevaluate the ingredients and cooking workflow.

Create an app for ordering them wireless from your seat. With a timer and alert when the chips are ready, it should not take you longer than 1 minute to pick them up. For an extra $ they bring it to your seat, just in case you don't want to miss the penalty.

To make it very gourmet and special, I would rename them to French Fries, even better Phoenix Fries and ass Tomato Ketchup instead of Sauce.

Gareth are you listening?

About time for a "Can't you bastards go a couple of hours without eating....why don't you eat before the game.....etc.....etc" rant, isn't it?

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

This is terrible. No doubt NZ cricket charge a fortune for the  rights to sell muck to punters, which explains Baxters prices. Why the hell  such organisations don't give a bit more thought to customer experience and loyalty I have no idea, it seems that all parties just want to take, take take and then don't understand why the number of punters dwindle.

As for raw chips , you should have shoved them up the vendors shark, then they may have realised how uncooked they were

Baxters have made plenty of money over the years, one would think that they could have upgraded their grotty caravan by now.

I was at the Basin last Saturday and didn't buy a single food or beverage item due to (a) ONLY Tui Lager being available at $7.50 per 330ml, (b) other high prices, (c) absolutely massive queues for stuff that did look good - i.e. Fritz's Wieners. Stadium has improved in that regard although do miss the express beer queue

And wine.

Also the burgers from the Fire Truck next to the Dempster gates were just incredible, and good value. They were awesome.
