I have spoken with Security and they will enforce that people sit in their right seat for our next home game and our remaining ones.

I dont want to make this a big issue but we need to ensure that the behaviour in the YF zone is improved. The minority as usual are spoiling it for everyone.

Security will ensure that fans sit in their right seats.  Not sure if it was just the CCM match but we have been swamped with emails from people who like to sit in the YF zone, getting beer poured over them, people sitting in their seats etc....

We have one of the best supporter groups in the A League who are great to watch and listen to. Let's not tarnish that reputation.

Im sorry, but,I dont see the harm in not sitting in your own seat..? There are at least 20,000 spare. If someone wants their seat and i am in it, i will move, simple. I dont see why it has to be made into a big deal involving security? I just see it causing more trouble than it should. Security should be concentrating on keeping idiots in line, or kicking them out if they continue to behave badly, not making sure people are in the correct seat.

That's a pretty major over-reaction and going to have a significant impact on what has been achieved so far.

A mistake.

At the CCM game there where nearly 2 rows of people in my row, and during the game the guy beside me changed about 5 times, i can tell you that whilst i knew a lot of the people in my row, that isn't where there tickets where, but someone else was in there seats, and the people in there seats where there because some one else was in there seats. Its and endless game of musical chairs. The fever zone was overcrowded on Sunday. I personally don't mind being in a full row, but when its 2 people deep, with some people barely able to stand (you know who you are ) It detracts from the football, which is ultimately my reason for being there, not the drinking, not the singing or chanting(although i chant myself hoarse every game), but watching a game of football, and supporting my team.

We asked for more security involvement, and now we're getting it.

Thats great Tony.

When you say sitting in their seats you of course mean standing dont you?

Its starting to get way to crowded with everyone squeezed in. We should be expanding the Yellow Fever area anyway. Maybe Ticketek should be told to include the next aisle along as part of the Yellow Fever area when selling tickets.

Sorry Tony P but that seems a massive over reaction if they are going to enforce people to SIT.Dont see how you can expect the same level of enthusiasm with the chanting from  fans who are seated.

Very disappointed if that is the type of overreaction we get.Can you imagine them doing the same for the sevens.

I'm pretty sure the emphasis is on people being in their right seat (sitting or standing) and not forcing people to sit? Or am I completely wrong?

It might work in the YF zone for seats in that aisle  but it wont work all around the 2/3rds empty stadium surely....so if I go to another aisle other than mine at the start they will say "go to correct aisle sir"..then I will be shown to my seat? and when I walk to loo or shops or go out at halftime they will make sure I go to correct aisle and seat again?..and then "police" sideways crabbing from aisle to aisle?  All in the name of taming the YF zone?

I trust they will then have best available seating on sale all the time uo to kickoff so we can get to sit at the start where we want taking account of sun, rain, wind ,end Phoenix is playing too.  My experience to date on walkup is the booths have a bundle of tickets for all over and if u dont like those u either have to take it or go to another booth and take your chance on what they have.  There will be people dotted all over the show now!

I am sure the "SIT" reference isn't literal, he basically means to make sure people are standing in there allotted space and not cramming in like battery hens.

So when i buy my ticket seperate to my group of mates i go to the football with (one of which has a season ticket...so its not like we can just buy them together), I end up sitting on my own in some random part of the ground?

Im not liking this Tony P..maybe if its getting crowded in certain rows, security should tell people to move along? That is the only issue i think, as i dont see the link between bad behaviour and people being in the wrong seat.

I really think this is a mistake..

I'm sure he meant STAND in our seats. Obviously, as we've all seen, many people want to be in the YF zone with us, and so they go there even if their ticket is for another part of the stadium..
so to sum it up I think the Stewards will keep an eye on everyone occupying their own seat and not someone else's, but obviously we'll be allowed to stand up

for the Phoenixxx..stand uuup...

Whereas i do see the link between the behavior of certain elements and the allocated seating. If the camera footage spots bad behavior, they can also probably trace the purchaser of the seat -especially if its a membership. unless you have forgotten the terms and conditions of your season membership include behavior clauses.

That is the problem. When you want to stand with your mates and those tickets have already been sold to someone else you shouldnt expect to be standing with them as of right. You need to get organised like others of us and get your tickets together. If you cant be arsed doing that stop moaning. Every game Ive had to ask people to move both before the game and than when we come back after half time, It pisses me off and the people around us who than get squeezed up like battery hens.

This is definitely going to stop a few people coming, lots of people like to sit with their mates.

Especially when its not entirely our fault, me and four mates got season tickets at the same time and asked to be in the same place in the fever zone, 2 of them ended up being put in aisle 23. Ticketek f**ked them round and now they can't sit in the fever zone, thats rough.

You need to take into consideration the fact that maybe his friend didn't have enough money at the time to buy a season ticket, or they became friends after he bought his season ticket, or his friend only recently started liking football. It has nothing to do with organisation and he has every right to moan. If I lived up in Wellington I'd be moaning.

You do have other options. I didnt buy a season ticket for that very reason. Sometimes there is 2 of us sometimes 4.
I got my 4 tickets for the fever zone on Saturday morning from ticketek. There were heaps to chose from and the helpful lady showed me the screen of all available tickets in the zone. If you want to rock up at the last minute take the seats you are given and stop complaining.

He can sit with his mates, there are plently of seats. Just dont expect to sit in other peoples. You have know since before the season started tickets would be sold as allocated seating. Dont start complaining about it now.

For what it's worth, while I think this was to be expected, I think it addresses the wrong problem.

Having a relaxed approach to who sits where doesn't seemed to have caused problems.  Letting people in drunk, or letting them get so drunk that they're out of control, has been the issue.

I suspect that forcing people into the allocated seats will deplete the Feverzone, and that may have a downward spiral effect on crowd volume and, ultimately, numbers.

I think it would have been better to address the drunkeness first, and only if that didn't sort things out force the issue on allocated seating.

But we've only ourselves to blame/commend, depending on your point of view.

Yep, that's true, I just think it's putting the cart before the horse and could have significant unintended consequences for the atmosphere in the ground.

Clearly what has been happening with the seats and crowding is because everyone wants to be in the Yellow Fever section -which is a sign of how fantastic this thing has got in a really short timeframe. Sounds like we have a few teething problems but nothing that can't be sorted. People who made the commitment to the team by buying a season ticket deserve to be able to go to their seat and it be empty for them to sit in.  You feel like a real dickhead asking people to get out.

Opening up another aisle or 2  sounds like a good idea as YF has really grown.  If you went to the trouble of buying a season ticket block of seats with your mates at the beginning of the season, you should be able to sit with your mates. If random mates come along to a game, and you sit in Yellow Fever, you just may not be able to sit together- that would be how it works for rugby at the stadium or Premiership football in UK - why should it be any different for Phoenix fans??

It's a beautiful game, let's keep it that way.

Massive kick in the guts.....ive been trying sell the YF zone to so many work mates and other friends....now to be told you won't be able to sit with mates that have season tickets is a serious kick in the guts.....bad call!

Agree with Tegal here- surely there must be another way to solve the problem. Last couple of matches I have brought another three or four people along to the match- If I am not able to sit with them I wouldn't expect to be seeing them come any more. If they are not allowed to sit in Yellow Fever zone then I assume (with everything being fair) that security would not allow me to sit with them on (for example) the other side of the ground because it is not my allocated seat. And if this is not the case then I believe us in the Yellow Fever zone are being singled out big time.

I agree that over drinking by some (and/or small brains and arrogance) is the real issue but it won't be addressed because of the almighty dollar!

However, next season the solution is obvious get sorted early, get in front of a ticketek human and demand they 'sit' you and your mates together in the YF zone and get proof of their competence (o.k. - that's the trickty bit) before handing over your visa etc.

Guys its not like the stewards are going to walk down every row and check every ticket/seat, this is trying to stop those people that come into the YF zone to be hooligans and address overcrowding in some rows.   If you have a group of friends that want to come, make sure they all get seats next to each other then stand next to them, one extra person in a row is virtually unpolicible and frees up a seat in another row in case someone else is bringing +1 or something.

Worst case scenario we'll have to expand the YF zone had have fringe aisles (20/23) where people can stand together.  It would be a good way to get current fringers more involved in the singing too if they see people around them joining in.

Let's make this clear.

One person threw a bottle.  This person could just as easily have been in his (or her) Season ticket seat.  Emotive crap like "those people that come into the YF zone to be hooligans" helps no one.

Please, think before you post.
