This is probably going to end poorly.

I'd rather stay home and watch it on the tv then get accosted by some ticket nazi into whatever crappy seat ticketek allocates me.

Just need more stringent marshalling to locate the bottle throwing d-bags, take their picture and don't let them back in.

Great stuff Tony. I saw heaps of people moving around the Fever Zone because people came. We payed good money for our season passes and I dont want some people for a one off game coming in and sitting in OUR seats.

Shocking call.No need to ruin the fun. Having people crowded and wherever they sit is one of the reasons why the atmosphere has been good.
If it aint broke, why fix it?
This has nothing to do with people thrwoing bottles

I think we can all thank the Beer spillers and bottle throwers for this. But I reckon they wont take responsibility for their own stupid behaviour, they'll probably bleat about people like me on their case all the time.

Well they've ruined it for everyone, well done lads!

YomCat and Nickel have both got it right that it wil be pretty unpoliceable (except, perhaps in the confined space of the FZ) so I wouldn't get your knickers in a Twist if you are in other Aisles.

On Sunday, my buddy left at half time (jumping up and down was too much for her torn a.c.l !!) so I moved down from the back of the FZ for the second half, because it was getting a bit nippy under the eaves. Simply asking politely whether the empty seat down at the front was taken or not (thank christ it wasn't) was all that was required. If you come across a group of people taking up your seats, do not feel a twat asking them to move: it is your right and even the most pissed up of larakins would move if stared down long enough.

I am sure even the stewards would have enough sense to only intervene if there was conflict about seating arrangements - and the proof is in the ticket holder. Perhaps Tony did not think through the implications his first post quite as clearly as he should have?

I have my season ticket in the zone with 4 friends and have always managed to get matchday tickets for multiple friends in either the row in front of us or the row behind - not that difficult to organize really......

Its all a big fuss about not much now the furore has died down.  Debate it all you want and post your opinions on "what it will be like now" and "why I won't be going anymore" but if you all just grab a large dose of OPTIMISM and focus on the positive things we've achieved so far then we will move on to bigger and better things.

The bottle situation and general increasing rowdiness has been over analyzed so lets just move forward, raise our game both on the pitch for the tough roadtrip ahead and with our level of support when the boys return in 4 weeks.

Its been good to get Tony P's thoughts, opinions and advice on here....its up to us to heed it and get back to singing our hearts out.  There have been enough ideas and suggestions on here that I sure hope that the idiots will be well watched by us and by security.

Over and out....roger ten four little fat buddy....we got ourselves a CON - VOY.....

I'll get me coat.

strike 1 - your out!!!  thats what it feels like. I think this is a mistake...there has been many a people on this site that have voiced there opinion and are willing to "police" the FZ from now on.  What the FZ has achieved over the last three months has been impressive - this enforcement will only halt the progress.

Stewarts do your job!!!! .

1 or 2 people have spoilt this for the rest.

yeah i think you are right with what you say. As we said in our Pandemic and on here a couple of games ago - if someone asks you to move from their seat just do it. I only think the stewards will get involved if there is a specific problem - so it should be the same Fever Zone we know and love  - but perhaps a little more spread out with room to get the most our of our vocal chords.

I can't see tony P backing down, he doesn't seem like the type - and to be honest I'd rather have management who solve problems than wait for them to go away

It'll be a nuisance, I've got used to wombling over from my foolishly purchased aisle 24 seat to the YF and have played dodge the stewards (as someone said maybe it will actually spread the chanting and maybe the standing if we are lucky)

next season I'll buy in YF prob solved, and it'll be  a better YF if the stewards stop some of the drunken selfish behaviour

this is just a blip and the Ring of Fire is still the best place in NZ

I was referring to the ability to move from seat to other areas. I usually like sitting up in aisle 23 but behind the goal in aisle 19 or 20 is looking interesting. i was thinking about moving during a game, I wont be able to now because some steward will send me back to where I start off at the game.

Let's make this clear.

One person threw a bottle.  This person could just as easily have been in his (or her) Season ticket seat.  Emotive crap like "those people that come into the YF zone to be hooligans" helps no one.

Please, think before you post.

There were lots of bottles thrown from all over the YF zone Hard News, I think only 1 made it onto the pitch. We can't cover over that.

I agree with your comments about the emotive crap though.

Tony P has done the right thing and its overdue. If people can't get organised and get tickets to stand with their mates, like we and many others have, then move somewhere else (wheres there are spare seats) or push for the widening of the YF zone like others have said. We are sick of moving people out of our seats.

surely the won't be that anal i mean there are 22,000 empty yellow seats scattered about the place. so i think there more worried about the overcrowding of certain areas,  probably the entrances to the aisles, as that's where you see most of the crowding, just as you walk into take your seat, well i notice it there mostly

I wonder if Ticketek will allow season ticket holders to request seat changes for this season?

Some of us who bought on the first day they were available and took a phone call from Ticketek had no idea of the seating layout - and Ticketek were not forthcoming with details and just wanted to give me seat numbers and move on to the next person. I ended up with seats much closer to the front than desired (despite asking to be half way back).

can't argue with what Tony P has said - we can stand and shout as much as we like from our allocated seats
Surprisingly, that's what I expected when I bought my season ticket way back when.

Well done Tony, totally agree with your actions. Should  maybe look at expanding the fever zone so more people can stand and sing their lungs out at the right seat

Well, good point, it cant really be policed. Should be ok if the stewards arent too harsh about it. So we are going to get people not in their own seat anyway? Tpo whoever said i get my ticket at the last minute, I do walk up 2-3hours before he game, then head off to the BB.This is because i often dont know if i get time off work until the day, therefore can hardly go ahead and get a ticket earlier in the week, therefore i get whatever tcket they give me (often on other side of the ground). So i will still be standing in the FZ even though my ticket is in aisle 5...

As i was saying, this shouldnt be s bad if the stewards go about it right. They can tell people to move along if its getting too crowded in an aread definetly fair enough as i have noticed it getting cramped in places at times this season. If you arrive and someone is sitting in your seat, simply ask them to leave, id say 99% of people will,if there is a problem then the stewards can intervene.

Seems business as usual to me, apart from a bit more awareness form security on what is happening, and what to do. All eyes are now on FZ,which is fair enough, and i welcome that!

Allegedly

Well thats a pain. The only reason I don't sit in my allocated seat is because if me and my mate both did, we'd be in different rows. We would have bought tickets together but he only got his membership after I dragged him to the first game, and a couple bet us to getting the seat next to me. So it kinda feels like punishment for promoting the event and getting another season pass holder for the club - we'd be better off by tickets on the day rather than season passes! It creates a huge hassle on game day, and we often have to move, but we always do, no questions asked. We love the Nix and we love the YF Zone, we do what we can to make it work until next season when we can get tickets  together.

As someone said earlier, it does seem like "strike one, you're out!" The has been a massive condemnation of last weeks actions and many have committed to stop the problem. I'd personally rather see us given the chance to self police, with the assistance of the stewards as necessary. This decision has the potential to dry up and disperse the zone, unless work is done by Ticketek to allow ticket transfers so people like myself can our shift allocated seats to sit together, in an expanded zone if necessary (but the last thing we need to rely on Ticketek for anything!).

Here's hoping we put the problem to the end, and make sure we can keep a YF Zone running as effectively as we have been all season - and consider ourselves lucky it's not a worse problem like someone firing flares or running onto the pitch to nudge Danny Vukovic!

It's not that hard a concept to understand.

A row fits x amount of people. Most of the seats in the FZ have been allocated to season ticket holders. While it's great that people want to sit in and experience the FZ, that does not excuse cramming in as many of your mates as you can around your seat at the expense of others.

The whole sitting in other people seats thing has been done to death already. I had to ask 3 different groups of guys who saw my mates seats vacant at half time to move along. To people who just expect to sit anywhere you like in the FZ, I think you'll find you're sh!t out of luck...

This isn't about people standing, it's about people who seem to think it is their right to pack in as many of their mates as they can into the space allocated for one or two people and people sitting in seats that others have paid for.

Pretty simple stuff...

I'm with Milky (and some others) on this one. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Strange that when we go to the movies or any other sporting event we don't expect to pack as many as we can into as few seats as possible but people are whining about it being stopped at the Ring of Fire. So you can't stand right next to your mates, it's sad but deal with it. You may well have the privilege of making some new friends at the footie. Never know if some juvenile pissed up f**wit has to be standing apart from his pissed up f**wit mates, maybe we won't get a repeat of what happened at least weekend's game.
As for the atmosphere plummeting? Why? If people are getting seats in the adjacent aisles to the Zone, surely it means the atmosphere (and the Zone) will spread further round the stadium. Or can't people sing unless they've got all their mates around them? We all contribute to the atmosphere fellas, one way or another, no matter where we're sitting.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Quite frankly i always go to the games on my own, my season ticket is in the middle of the YF zone (22, row A) and I somehow manage to have a great time at every game, yelling and chanting. I think its the people who cant function socially unless they are in a pack, who struggle to get into the spirit of football without being pissed. I also manage to do this without drinking at the game. I have a few at the BB prior, but id rather spend my money on something other than warm Tui in a plastic bottle.
