From the Dom.....

"Serepisos is looking at options such as adding a guest player and another fulltime squad member. He had two players in mind, who could "do nothing but strengthen the team".

Could be anyone

Jeremy Brockie....why?

I've seen him sniffing around town.

I say tackle him in the face.

Great article from Terry, answers key questions about Ricki staying and his ongoing commitment to the club and Wellington, great stuff.

The options at this stage are quite limited though, so Brockie and Elliott could well be the guys they're talking about.

What else would he say?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting the boot in at all... but the same thing happens the world over - sometimes preceeding a bullet. Terry isn't exactly going to say that if we lose the next three games then our RR's will be an instant collectors item is he? Don't be naive enough to expect that if there aren't some positive signs pretty quick that the status quo will remain. Terry didn't get where he is by sitting back and just waiting for things to get better of their own accord.

I'd be very surprised if there aren't changes in the next month - hopefully in the performances on the field.... but if not...

Here's hoping the boss' rocket does the trick and the air is cleared and whatever's going on is resolved... and we can see (starting Sunday) our boys produce the football that we all know they're capable of, with results to match.

I look forward to my RR HTE (Hat Trick Edition) in '09!!!

I think the team needs an 80's style training / bonding montage .. it always seems to be the turning point in the movies.. shortly after the inspirational speech which we've just had, and the rock bottom moment (losing to Perth? - I think that's warranted)Any ideas for songs for the montage scene? HAS to be 80's.

Thanks Mum!!

Susan Hoffman was my favourite Bananarama girl.

If they can't training to this with their Retro Ricki shirts on, then they stop believing in getting their football mojo back again.

BTW Mum, congrats on your 1,000th post.

Exactly the kind of support we need for the club if we want to succeed. If we have more loyal fans like you its a great sign for the club.

Might pay to remind the Rugby fan at how long it took them to get their hands on the shield and how long they held it for last time. Good things take time to happen and the Nix will get there. I am patient enough, I hope everyone else is too. The honeymoon is over so now it's down to work time. We can achieve!

Awesome!

Terry to give the guys a rev up. If they can't catch some passion from him it isn't anywhere. The performances have been poor, but we have to let them go.

You are only as good as your last game, but you are only as bad as your last game too!

"Sometimes when you've got your back to the wall it can bring out the best in you."
Durantee says that in the article..

So far it seems to bring the best out of Moss and no one else..

To all YF, this is the time we all stick together as one group. Yes it is disappointing and frustrating but this is sport you have winners and you have losers. It hurts to lose I can tell you it is very painful. We are all hurting here in Perth and I know you are as well.

Ricki Herbert is the coach and will turn things around.  He has the 100% backing of Terry and myself.

Sport is a cruel game and if you follow it long enough you will always end up hurting more than feeling the elation of winning but it is that elation that we all wait for and thats what keeps us going. As a club we are remaining positive, yes we have not won a game but we are now focusing on Sydney. A win and things will change. We have the squad as we saw is the pre-season cup we just need the confidence to return which it will.

So the negativity stops now and we start the positive vibes for Sydney and 3 points. Come next Sunday we will have forgotten about the past and focus on the future.

I am proud to be associated with Wellington Phoenix FC and have watched this club evolve from nothing to where we are today.  It is now for all of us to stay strong and remain positive.

C'mon the Nix

Its all good to say this Tony, and we have been nothing but positive for all of last season and through this season too. We've done our part, which you and the management team recognised early on, saying in all your communications saying that it was the team's turn to respond. I think most of us hear will always give you our support but its got to be said that the team needs to start playing for us, we know they can play a lot better than they have been. I think at this stage we'd be happy with a better performance against Sydney, a win would be great, but asolid well played performance will go a loing way!

I think the issue here is that all this rhetoric has been spouted for the last three weeks and still no improvement was noticeable. Remember Durante's interview immediately after the Adelaide debacle? You'd've thought that would have been the catalyst for a big improvement but was it? No. The Sydney game is going to be huge, absolutely huge in determining the immediate future.

I agree, we've heard all the talk about improving and how this "slump" is only temporary. Its time for action on the field. The remainder of this season depends on this game against Sydney. Another lack luster performance and we are sunk! Give us a game we can be proud of, win or lose and there is hope!

good to see that Terry is wanting to get things moving again, and his stated commitment to the Phoenix

as i've rabitted on about in the past he and, consequently, the Nix have changed Wellington as a place to live - Thanks again Terry

I'd gladly swap a day at my work for a day at the Nix if that would inspire the players. 1 day at my place of work could have a key and crucial effect.
