yeah more of a 451 really.

They are all essentially the same formation, its more about the personnel and tactics. And tonight Ricki needs to be given credit where it is due.

Regardless of whether it was forced on him - he did it all right tonight. I was rather negative after last week, but if we continue with 3 central mids then I am optimistic

Alright assuming Steiny is back from injury for this Saturday do we reckon he'll be put straight back into the starting line-up? Or will Ricki stay will his winning 11?

I would bench Fenton for him. Waffles up front with Brockie wide.

Yeah I was thinking benching Fenton. Really hasn't provided much since his debut (although he isn't the only one) and might benefit from a stint on the bench, give him a bit of a kick.

Wow lot of typos on that article.

Stein has been improving every game under Merrick and I think last night was the culmination of great coaching and hard work on his behalf. I think we really must re-sign him now - otherwise we may find we lose him to another A-League club. I wouldn't be surprised if Roar came in for him if they can't hold onto Berisha.

Totally agree - and I get the feeling that he's good for the young fullas too. A lot of experience at a high level in Europe and really seems passionate on the field as well

Agree about the passion he shows! Always such vigorous goal celebrations!

Oh, and for the chant, it is pronounced Stain, not Styne. From his own mouth...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Phoenix fans. We have to win them over one fan at a time.

That's only because he speaks with an accent.

Three for me, and two for them.

By the same reasoning, you'd probably tell everyone your name was not pronounced "negative prick" too... but what would you know?

A few videos of Stein on YouTube have foreign commentators saying it "styne". Just saying..

Sign Stein up now.

Seven goals he's top equal for A_League golden boot. The way he is playing he has a good shot at taking out the GB. Which would be great for him and the club.

Stein comes across as a cool guy. He interviews really well...he actually sounds intelligent, which is a change from lots of sports guys. But what I really like is his passion for the game. His goal scoring celebration was mint. Like the way he responds to the crowd as well. Nice to have a player with a bit of personality to go with their good footballing ability. Boyd put lots of his improvement down to be mentored by Stein.....good to see the senior guys helping the kids.

His trap and turn and shot for his goal against the Victory was top class.

Ernie re-sign him now! With Berisha gone the Roar will surely be all over him for next season.

Fair play to Stein. Prior to Xmas I was less than convinced but he has proved what a good player he is in the last few weeks and I'm happy to say I was wrong. And good to see the likes of Riera and Lia playing their roles so well - long may it continue!

Last year most people said he was a donkey, I maintained Ricki just didnt know how to incorporate him into his game plan, now what?

and this: http://www.sporza.be/cm/sporza/voetbal/buitenland/140123_Huysegems

Interesting bit in the last article is (thanks to google translate):

"In any case, the board of Wellington let me know last week that it would extend. My contract I am now waiting for their proposal."

"It may also interest comes from a club in Australia., The positive comments that I get the last few months, to be picked up there."

I could well understand why other Australian clubs would be interested in Stein. He is a very good player who is in excellent form. I never got the "Stein is crap" arguement. You don't get 16 caps for Belgium if you are not a very good player. He was not the only player who didn't fit into Rickies hoofball game plan.

Stein is 31....the club should give him at least a two year deal. Do it NOW Gareth!!!!!!!!

I hope Gareth will open a Kiwisaver account for Waffles so he can play out his twilight years and retire here!

The argument wasn't that he is "crap", it was he didn't suit our style under Ricki which was true. Under Ernie we are now playing to his strengths and he is having a very good season because of it.

The latest poll on the Hyundai A League web site.....

Who will win the Golden Boot this season?

29%- Besart Berisha

9%- Adam Taggart

33%- Stein Huysegems

14%- Alessandro Del Pierro

15%- James Troisi

Thank you for voting!

He's also looked a lot better with Boyd up front for him making runs which give him more space.  The Steyn/Brockie thing has never got going partly I think because Brockie has been guilty of only thinking about where the ball is going to end up, not about how it's going to get there

Because there are so many golden boot contenders out there we can easily sign to replace him.
Give him another 1 year + 1 year option.
