Close the thread.

We had a twenty minute discussion with David Dome, we told him our concerns, he took them onboard, he gave us his opinions & they were received with gratitude. But as David Dome knows all three of us, he probably said things in a different way than he would of to a larger audience.

The best way to get information from a protest, is to join in the protest. But you are trying to get the thread locked so that there will be less people at the next protest. Why bother locking the thread, are you afraid that more people will join the protest? Why is that a bad thing? Surely a larger protest would be better?

We know that there is a lack of balls from the Fever Elite, so they won’t join it, but, for the Joe Average supporters of the WELLINGTON Phoenix, this is a way to get your point across.

I hope you will join us on the 25th, or even on the 17th in Auckland, then you can get feedback from David Dome, if he chooses to talk to us again!

One man protesting in Milton will just get the usual treatment from the locals: Christo looking like he fits right in.

if I could be at Auckland I would join the protest - and should dome and/or the board decide to front I would be asking some hard questions - I was unable to attend the last game at home so unfortunately could not join in the practice protest. In my dealings with Mr Dome, h has always been very forthright in person and passionate about the club and its success. I think his message is diluted a lot for the media.

That first paragraph is completely sensible. I understand. Patrick asked a question, that’s a fair answer to the question.

Nobody is looking to stop the protest. In fact I feel like I’ve been quite helpful with changing the thread title etc, while others have given suggestions to maximise the effectiveness of the protest, as well as saying well done to LG and yourself for stepping up and protesting something you believe in - really, it’s great because it shows people still give a shark and are passionate about the club. Personally, I’m being passionate about the club in a different way, and that’s fine too isn’t it? That shouldn’t mean I or others get given shark and told I/they don’t have balls etc - why be so personal?

We all want the Phoenix to be better, and do better. All this angst is just exhausting. Whether you’re joining the protest, or letting the club know you’re unhappy in other ways, or you’re just happy to have a football team to support on the weekend so turn up to have fun. We all want the club to do well. The fever is great because we can all support the team in our own way, so let’s just do that.

The next protest is the ‘proper’ one, right? I do hope you get more people this time, you’re efforts deserve it and it does sound like there were a few more people keen to join last time but backed out because of that early goal, or who couldn’t make it.

Admitting to being part of the Yellow Fever Elite? That takes Balls! Well done Tegal!!?

Why not put those balls on the line & protest. It doesn’t have to be with LG’s protest, but protest about the BULLSHIT treatment that the club give to the supporters.

Ha, all I do is help out with a few things, moderate the forums (poorly) and post the news. That’s C grade elite at best :p

Already outlined too many times why I don’t feel the need to protest on this occasion. I’ve had my input to the club about things that I’m unhappy with. But could be tempted to protest if you end up in the beer tent again ;)

Wow, this has been the most toxicity I've seen on this forum in a while. Don't we all support the Phoenix? Do we really have to lampoon each other over a fudgeing protest? Everyone wants the club to get better. People that want to protest will protest, and people that don't won't, who gives!? Now can we all get along?

I guess he could Vader. That would be classy and arrogant would it not?

Look back on this thread Big fella and you will see other posts the same. They were not arrogant and neither was my post

If you couldn't get off your ass and protest then why should you know what Dome  said

If you are actually interested and believe in the issues then go next time and you might hear some answers

Others also asked, they haven't shared it and if they wanted to they probably would have by now

I believe one of them said you needed to be there

So don't be a c big fella

No offence but that's ridiculous. If I acted with that described attitude in my dealings with the club imagine how furious people would be - and rightly so. Luckily most people are not of the same mind as you.

There are many reasons people are unable to get info direct from the source whether it be location or personal commitments. To suggest that people have to "step up" in order to have the right to simply ask for info is something I hope never becomes the attitude of the majority around here.

If the protesters would rather keep that info to themselves that is their call but it certainly isn't your place to belittle people for asking about it.

/rant

Dave with all due respect as you seem a nice guy and balanced in your views, Patrick was at the location and apart from beating his own drum, had no personal commitments.

He made a conscious decision not to attend and apart from questioning LG about his statement that the area was roped off (when it wasn't) , didn't contribute

He was also asked to support the thing and chose not to do so

If LG or the other two want to tell him then that's cool

The fact they haven't however illustrates that perhaps if he was interested in the issues and the response then he needed to be there.

Hatter himself said a few pages ago you needed to be there when asked.

If one was not at the location (as I wasn't as I am in Auckland) and you actually believe in the issues and why they did what they did, you could message LG

I'm sure he would then share it with you

Please read my last paragraph again and go back to playing the ball not the man. It's not that hard. In an open forum such as this everyone has the right to ask questions and similarly everyone has the right to not answer them.

That doesn't magically mean they are open to personal attack. You have lashed out not only the person asking the question but all of the people saying you were out of order. Perhaps try and step back and look objectively at your reaction if you can and you might see why flying in guns blazing to something that didn't concern you was a bit over the top and rubbed many the wrong way.

Sorry been away from the tablet for a few days. In reference to Patrick's question, what did Dome say about our protest? Most of that has been already answered on here but I think the only part of the answer missing is how did Dome take it, the protest.

Dome expressed words to the effect that he respected our passion and our position of making an attempt at a statement of disatisfaction. He admired our passion and our ongoing support since day one of the Phoenix.

Yes he knew the three of us from various encounters in the past. He hopefully has forwarded our concerns to his bosses, he also appreciates that there are a lot of fans out there whom do not use this website nor are a part of the fever so to speak, that are not happy with games going out of Wellington. So that is pretty much it.

We also chatted about other things, not related to the club as per se but football in general. Some people forget Dome is an in general big football fan and is happy to talk about it on any topic. He does have a good sense of humour and although he and I may not agree on a few things in regards to the Nix, I would like to think there is a mutual respect on those points.

The protest on the 25th is going ahead, to again reinforce our feelings. It won't bring the game back to Wellington but it will show consistency in our beliefs. Again, I give EVERYONE an open invitation to join in this protest. It is not aimed at the players, it is not aimed at the departing coach, it is not aimed at David Dome. Pea eful protest that the game was taken away from Wellington with little notice or consideration for those whom may have made or paid for travel plans etc.

He left us after the conversation, why the dig?You can be about as subtle as a brick on a still lake. It isn't  the first one either, yet I have not taken them too personally. The Phoenix survival and keeping most fans engaged with the club is more important to me. And having a club that starts to treat its 5k core fan base with some respect and not taking it for granted.

I am deathly afraid everyone will join and that the Garage project tent will run out of beer!

I'm an out of town supporter now, thought I'd made that clear, so getting the information isn't as easy as for me. I'm genuinely interested in how this turns out and what Nix HQ say and whether they back it up.

But hey, if you want to tell me that what I've said is about closing down the protest, ok fine, but I don't think I've stated anywhere that I'm against it.

I thought your response (you should of been there)was a bit childish to be honest. I'm also a little bemused by your holier than thou attutude when you only managed to attract 3 people to join your protest. While your views are valid in themselves, you dont have widespread support obviously.

I was not at the protest as I was 793km and 15 years away in Dunedin and have explained this personally to LG.  I was probably not going to go to the game on the 25th because mehhhh can't be fudgeed but I will  be there,  in Aisle 10 or wherever it happens to end up.

I will not take a Garage Project beer, because fudge that Hipster shark but I will have a Tui instead.

One thing that has surprised me about this whole affair is that despite so many self professed lefties on here, fudge all are willing to stand by their "comrades", notwithstanding that they have offered support on here. It may surprise some, but I have stood in Picket Lines and gone on strike in the past, sometimes for causes that I did not necessarily agree with entirely but you do so to support your mates. Walking 200 metres to help raise concerns and hoping they are heard rather than than the nuclear option of just going fudge it I ain't renewing my membership.

We have as a rule stayed out of this thread but there are forum rules regarding playing the ball not the man.  If everyone could perhaps re-read those and think before they post that would be grand.

I will warn everyone here that my tolerance levels are at an all time low and I'm being forced to mod which I really can't be arsed with.

Hey guys, this is getting a bit out there, so come the 25th, let's show our passion with our feet, Ailse 10 at the 10 minute mark! Peaceful protest. I am hoping for more than the three of us. I have heard from 14 others whom agree in principle but need to show some form and make the walk please.

Let's do it, let's show up. What have we got to lose? The team have been losing enough, Fans need to win something, anything. Besides us cheering from behind the subs benches might help the lads on to a victory.

While I support LG's moxie in getting a protest together, I must say that this thread has now become an excuse for certain people to bag the "Fever Elite", which (a) does not actually exist; (b) has nothing to do with why our first team sucks and its owners don't seem to know what to do about it, which is the real issue.

We should have a "YF Elite vs People Who Wish They Were In The YF Elite" battle-to-the-death thread.

How can something that “doesn’t exist” be bagged?

How can one member of the entity that doesn’t exist complain about personal attacks.

I would like to see some passion displayed on behalf of the Yellow Fever. There was no support from YF, which is fine, but when certain members of the entity that doesn’t exist, are constantly making snide remarks, it PISSES me off.

Have a reread of what I have said previously about the entity that doesn’t exist. Yes, I said they lacked balls, because they haven’t done any public protest about moving the last game of the season at such short notice. But to try & undermine the protest strikes me as a pathetic moan, that they didn’t sanction it, so they won’t endorse it.

Will you be joining us in protest in Auckland? Or making a protest of your own? Or is the bus timetable not conducive to attending such a difficult place to get to?
