Ticket prices for the Galaxy match? (Galaxy talk)

i hope ticketek don't muck up the preferential booking system; I'm hoping I can go online, put in my Phoenix membership number (they've already got  my street addy) and reserve a seat at the discounted price.
It's just that the ticketek site isn't built for this full price / discount model as far as I am aware.

Maybe I have to front up to an agency - if so, it's a trip into Welington ?

I think the club have missed a trick here.  While throwing the Friday game in with the price of the ticket is a good idea, what about a reduced price pass for the last five games of the season to grab those who come to the Galaxy game for the first time and want to come back.  Or those who didn't buy a season pass and will be coming to the last five games?

Just a thought...

I think alot of people will jump on the football bandwagon after the Galaxy match and that sounds like a really good idea.

Didn't someone say earlier in a thread that the season ticket prices are reduced proportionately in relation to the remaining number of games? Or were they just asking whether that was the case?

Talk about a recipe for disaster expecting Ticketek to be able to sell tickets to 2 games, wonder how many times they will sell a season ticket holders seat for the Phoenix game.

only members get discount. If you get 1 for yourself and 7 for your cousies from Akld who arent season ticket holder - they will be full price.
If you get tickets on behalf of other members then you will get the discount for them - but for all members discounts you will need to give your/their name and mbrship number (on your pass).

You will not automatically get your season ticket seat - so just ask for it if you want it- then ask for your second choice if its unavailable (ie get in early).

The YF zone will be kept for those that ask for it - not allocated to randoms.

does that include the friday night? i may not go on the saturday, but will most def be going friday so i should still be able to rock on up to my seat in yf  eh ?

I really really really want to get 2 tickets for the LA Galaxy game but I don't have a season ticket.  I have been thinking of getting one, but the price is a bit dear now considering I will only be able to attend the last five games. Also I am flying out to sydney on the 8th October and don't want to run the risk of missing out on the tickets considering they go on sale at 9am.

Is there any kind person out their be willing to get me two tickets in Aisle 24 on the 1st October??

Does the concession price for the Galaxy tickets include Student prices at all?? Because it only states that OAPs and Children get concession, but becasue I'm a student my season pass has CHILD written on it, will I get child price for the Galaxy? I don't mind either way.

I agree, this is a great idea, i asked today and they said it will still cost 184 bucks. There should be a reduced rate for the last 5 games.

Sorry dont agree, how long into the season do want them to be discounting tickets. They offer a good discount if you buy a season pass or if you buy a ticket early.Thats why there is an incentive for those who brought season pass.Dont think you can expect them to be  offering deals half way through the home season.

Hi there,

I am moving from Auckland to wellington in the next week and have been supporting the phoenix, watching all the games on sky sport and because I am moving down I want to get a season ticket, is there still any left for the YF zone? also because i wont be able to pick up my membership card, should i ask for my membership number from ticketex in order to purchase la galaxy tik as well?

If anyone could help that would be brilliant. I moved over from scotland in June and was a season ticket holder with glasgow rangers but said when i came over i wanted to support the phoenix, so due to job relocation I can now go to the games!!

Btw I think daniel and felipe are awesome players!!

I'm sure there's space available for season tix in the YF zone, but if I were you I'd call Ticketec staright away, as you'll probably have to call them 72 times before you get anything sorted.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of it that way. I revise my stance to those that can't wait until Oct 8 "you shoulda bought a season ticket back in July like the rest of us!"

So let me get this right.  I am a season ticket holder.  I already have a seat for the Adelaide game because I have a season ticket, except I don't because "you will not automatically get your season ticket seat" and that has to mean for the Adelaide game as well because these new tickets covers both games.  Except I'm not sure I am going to the Galaxy game.  Now I may be being exceptionally stupid here (it happens all the time, I'm a football fan after all) but I just don't understand how this is going to work.

Please please can somebody who put this idea together explain, very slowly, step by step.

This needs to be clarified - I assume that the $62 price for the two tickets for members - is only a reduced price because they have deducted the normal walk up price for an A-League game (seeing as we've already paid for it through our season ticket)
Plus we're not gauranteed our seat for the A-League game either! - hmm - not happy Jan.

ok i will have an attempt at making this simple (im good with children)

1) If you have a season ticket, your seat for the Adelaide games is YOUR SEAT it is not for sale.
2) If you want the same seat for the Galaxy game, you will have to ASK for the same seat as season tickets do not cover any games other than the 10 home games listed on your ticket.
3) Tickets for season members go on sale 1st october. You may purchase 8 tickets max . The discount is per memership.( if you buy 6 tickets, and have 3 memberships, you will get 3 on discount and pay FULL PRICE for the other 3.)
4) Members have 1 week to organise and purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. NOTE. season ticket holders may end up purchasing 8 ticket blocks in the fever zone so get in early if you want a seat even remotley close to where you usualy sit.

I am not going to discuss pricing (re concessions & students)as after this it  is pretty obvious what tickets will end up costing.

In the case of silver, the only discount on the price for members is the $18 season ticket cost of the Adelaide game (actually $17.50) - so the benefit of being a member for the Galaxy game is first dibs rather than a discounted ticket.

Ticket Prices

Phoenix members
Gold: $82 Silver:$65

Phoenix member (concession/child)
Gold: n/a Silver: $42

Adult
Gold: $100 Silver: $82.50

Child (to 16 years)
Gold: n/a Silver: $50

Concession (seniors 60 and over, ID required)
Gold: n/a Silver: $50

For the phoenix member Child ticket ($42), do you just show you fevercard when your buying it and you get teh discount? or by "Phoenix member" do you mean season ticket holders?

Phoenix member - when talking about buying match tickets - referes to season ticket holders

Many thanks for the clarification.  As I'm sure you appreciate the place you sit/stand is important for a regular ticket holder.  Clearly if I sit anywhere else for the Adelaide game it will result in an immediate 6-0 loss and season long injuries for all key players, something called the 'butterfly's wing effect' I believe.

so if i get one as a student its cheaper than as a member. hmm. but then do i still get first dibs? anyone?

ok, what if you have bought a season ticket but dont have your card, how do you get a ticket to the LA galaxy match?
the reason is i am going to purchase a season ticket today or tommorow as i am moving from Auckland to Wellington and was going to get a season ticket regardless of the beckham game but i wont be able to go to the match on sunday because i am still packing to move, so i wont get my membership card to purchase tix on monday, do i need to ask for a membership number or will my details be on their computer system so when you phone up they know you are a member to get the tix?
can anyone help me on this as i am not sure.
thanks

Nice job on the simplification UberGunner!

I think the only confusing thing remaining is that some people think they're not getting a discount because they've already paid for their season pass and will be going to the Adelaide game on that anyway.

If you think about the way it's worded, you're buying a ticket for the Galaxy game which also gets you a free one for the Adelaide game. But as a season member you're already getting into that game, so you don't think you're actually getting a discount. But you'll have an extra ticket for the Adelaide game which you have gotten for free(and can give/sell it to whomever you like, I'm sure someone will be glad to buy it off you at face value rather than paying a booking fee at Ticketek!). Prob not really a true discount, but we're paying less than Joe Public and getting exactly the same thing they are.

If I don't go to the Beckham game, does that mean that the club have to sell one fewer ticket to the match (assuming the Beckham game will sell out), because they can't give the purchaser of 'my' Beckham seat a ticket for the Friday game. If you get my drift.

You don't have a "beckham seat" - no one has any reserved seating for the beckham game. every seat is for sale, I can repeat this as often as you like. Look at your season ticket. See the list of games on the front. They are the ONLY games you have seats at. Everything else is up for grabs. They are giving Season ticket holders a week to buy tickets before everyone else. When  a Season ticket holder buys a LA Galaxy ticket (which includes a ticket for the Adelaide game)they pay less as they don't have to buy ticket for the game that they already have. If you buy more than one ticket for the LA Galaxy game then you will pay full price for the other tickets as you are buying extra seats to the Adelaide game that you didn't already have.
(it is likely you will be issued 2 separate tickets for the weekend with different seats for each game)

This is how its been explained to me: A season ticket (silver) pays $65 for Galaxy, any others are $82.50. There is no free Adelaide ticket given away as the season ticket holder already has one. If you buy 8 Galaxy tickets (1 at $65 and 7 at $82.50) you will get an extra 7 Adelaide tickets in the mail. So there is no monetary benefit to season ticket holders in this exercise, just the prefential booking facility. In fact it is the ones who get the extra Galaxy ticket who get a benefit, as in effect they are getting an Adelaide ticket for $17.50 ($82.5- $65), which they would normally pay $28 for, a saving of $11.50. Or put another way, if they don't want to go to the Adelaide game, they can sell their ticket for $28 which means they are only paying a net $54.5 for the Galaxy game for which a season ticket holder is paying $65.

I'm not talking about which seat I will sit in or the ticket price. I'm talking about the fact that every none-season ticket holder who buys a ticket for the Beckham game is getting a ticket for the Adelaide game.

The stadium holds 34000 people. There are 2300 season ticket holders. If 1000 season ticket holders don't buy a ticket to Beckham, then there are 1000 seats that are saleable for the Beckham game, but not the Adelaide game. I don't mean the specific seat, just the total numbers. This only matters if the Beckham game sells out.

If you don't understand that, that's up to you.

I think they will be monitoring that and will come out with some single match tickets for beckham just before they go on sale to joe public

Maybe thats why they gave season ticket holders a week early, so they can work this part out.

it is bound to fail...

I understand you. I had that thought myself. It won`t be a problem unless about 33,000 plus go to the Adelaide game.

Its a pretty simple formula!
Best to get in quick either way, at that price I'd imagine all tickets will sell quick. Season ticket holders get first dibs anyway so if you want to go to both - and why wouldn't you? - it should be sweet!
