All this talk will make me listen

I actually enjoyed the podcast and I think a lot of the questions were perfectly good and they were well answered by Des. I certainly do not expect perfection and a high level of profession journalism in a YF podcast. Why do you think I listen?!
Good on Dave, Cam & Tracey and a big thanks to Des. I am looking forward to the next poddy.

This podcast is a very very tough listen. Liked the new host and Cam but that's about it.

As in the podcast in general, or this episode?

I should have clarified. Just this episode. Generally its pretty good so its not the podcast as a whole.

My criticism is mainly you can't have a person on a football podcast that says 'I have zero to offer' and 'whats your favourite movie?' Its a football podcast, even its its something, anything, anything stupid thats football related rather than 'i have zero'.

I don't accept that because its last min that you get a pass. If you walk into a football podcast, you know you are going to have to talk football. If you can't do that, don't accept.

People are going to say thats harsh but its not like this is the very 1st time anyone has heard the fever podcast and don't understand how it works.

You know people are volunteering their time to do this for free, right?

So are the SS Prem players people rip into every week :)

I thought the question and his answer to the current state of NZ Football was very good.

FWIW (probably not much), I like the interviews being puff pieces with the occasional good question, and also love it when it gets deeper.

I personally listen to the pod for a few mega fans having a chat about the football.  And thought for a week with no Nix the pod was great last week.

Thank you! Main reason we do the pod is so we can have a chat about the football, so it's nice that at least one person enjoys listening to that :)

Patrick, we might not always agree, but those pods are by fans for fans and that is what makes them so special. sure there have been good ones and bad ones but the passion and effort made in peoples own time is to be applauded. The guests have been good, it is just a shame that events on the field have not given you all an excuse for much more positiveness on them. keep them going guys...and ladies.

We actually talked about the game, although mainly framed it in terms of what is wrong with the side and what's gone wrong in general this season. I think it'll be a good listen when I finish editing it.

Will be out tomorrow afternoon!

Get the latest episode of Phoenix City into your ears, out now at http://yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts and in your podcast app!

The team get their collective rant on, thanks to a dismal performance from the Nix and a baffling All Whites squad selection from Anthony Hudson. We preview a bumper weekend of football, including Nix vs Newcastle, the two World Cup qualifiers against Fiji, and the SS Prem semifinals.

Listened thought it was one of the best pods yet. Would like a proper discussion next week of who is off contract and who you would keep/cull then look at the players in the league who are off contract and who we could/should pick up.

The benefit of a 7pm game on a Sunday in Aus is we can all go to bed at half time if we're playing like that.

I'm a bit behind - only just listened to the prior podcast but feel the need to weigh in.

Been loving the addition of Dave to the regulars. Very sensible, well reasoned perspective almost all of the time. And did a decent job hosting.

What I love about the podcast is football cheat and a bit of inside goss that us plebs may not know about.

I also think having Patrick away has given us a better appreciation for the work he does. Both Cam and Dave did a decent job hosting but it probably want quite as smooth as when Patrick is there. Which isn't surprising given Patrick's experience.

I also appreciated a change of tone having Tracey on. And it takes guts to say I've got nothing to add. No point saying shark for the sake of it.

The only other thing is that I reckon you all (naturally) tone down your criticism of the club when you have a club guest on. So it's good to have them only every now and then.
But Des was bloody good so don't stop getting guests!

Completely agree - Paddy does a great job not only hosting but editing every week and doesn't get nearly enough credit for it.

Doesn't get enough credit full stop, for everything he does for the Fever.  We'd be dead in the water if it wasn't for Pat

Any chance Patrick could pull some strings and get Feverbot as a guest on the pod?

yep I'm hoping to get it out early evening. I have 119 minutes of audio to edit down, plus a couple of interviews to insert in, it's a big edit this week.

I'm in a similar boat Rorm6, I struggle to start my drive home from work on Thursday unless Ive got Patrick's sultry tones and cam's kazoo flowing through my ears (...let that image sink in for a bit...)

I feel like after, what must be close to a decade of listening to Phoenix related podcasts, it has some sort of 'Pavlov's dog' effect on me.

I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.

This weeks bumper edition of #PhoenixCity is out now at http://yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts and in your app of choice!

What a week! The pod have plenty to talk about, and draft in Enzo Giordani to help them dissect all the football of the week. The Phoenix winning 5-0, the All Whites with a 2-0 double against Fiji, TeeDubs and Waitak battling out a 6-6 draw before TeeDubs advanced on penalties, and Auckland City sucking the life out of Hawke's Bay.

And as if that wasn't enough, Patrick also sat down with Michael Boxall to talk All Whites and life in South Africa, and chatted on the phone with Jose Figuera ahead of the Stirling Sports Premiership final this weekend.

Okay, think I've fixed up the upload. If your app had already downloaded the episode, it might show up as two copies. But it will now show up for people who missed out during the hour where there were two copies uploaded in the list. Sorry for the hassle!
