The latest episode of #PhoenixCity is out now! http://yellowfever.co.nz/podcasts and in your fave podcast app.

After a week off, the pod is back to talk about the Nix's recurring problem of conceding a lot of goals following the 3-2 loss to the Victory. We preview the trip to the Gold Coast against the Roar, look at Auckland City falling over at the first step in the Club World Cup, and cast an eye over how the Handy Prem has been going.

Hey we managed to correctly predict this would happen, we just didn't pick it to happen so soon...

A couple of things there that really resonated with me.

- Patrick talking about feeling like he can ask workmates to watch the Nix at the moment. I was sitting at the Victory game, thinking "Why am I here?" (I'm not thinking about inviting others, I feel bad enough bad enough bring my kid(s) along)

- Secondly, Dura. At the beginning of the season, I said I'd be surprised if he was still a starter at season's end (based on last season's form). For couple of games he looked like he was going to prove me wrong, but the CCM & Victory games leave me waiting for it to happen.

Your wishes on Dura being dropped have come true. I wonder if will be watching at home on tv?

Just wanted to say IU do appreciate your pod even when things are shark team.

Patrick sounded defeated, but even when the Nix look like there is a lack of hope, I do appreciate the pod every week making me not feel alone in my pain.

Thanks mate - definitely a feeling of "do we have to" at the moment, but at least we get to chat shark about football with mates for a bit every week!

The Phoenix got things back on track with a steady 0-0 draw against the Roar, and this weekend they are travelling over for the latest instalment of the Distance Derby. We look at whether the Nix will sign a replacement for the departed Gui Finkler, and the TeeDubs are back in action in the Handy Prem after a week off.

Great stuff as always. I walked past Krishna near Maccas on Adelaide Rd yesterday... surely he should be over in Aus by now if he's playing?

Gents...

Auckland didn't quite 'romp past Canterbury 3-0' in the Women's final.

Auckland won 3-2 after scoring two goals in extra time, including the winner with almost the last kick of the game. It was 1-1 after fulltime, and the game was played in 37 degree heat (at ground level) and they took drinks break halfway through each half...

As you were...

Probably got confused with the Southern v Auckland game, and was actually talking about it and never the Final.

But, as always, #SackPatrick

fudgeed that up big time, didn't I! I blame NZF's website (and the fact that nobody owns a printer these days).

Was most disappointed that when Patrick was getting stick for forgetting Justin's name, the only question was "What's Justin's last name?" I was waiting for the killer blow - "Who does Justin play for?"

I was thinking exactly the same thing!!

I saw on either Twitter or one of the FB groups Cahill being mentioned - if that did happen could we get a special show with Cahill and Watto talking to Patrick?

Could be more players leaving announced on Friday, or a temporary replacement for Rado.

It's a doozy. We talked for about 30 minutes about the general state of the club before we even mentioned the Perth game.

Out later today, as soon as I can get it edited.

Just in time to accompany your last minute weekend of Christmas shopping, the latest episode of Phoenix City is out now!

Rado and Dario have walked out on the Phoenix - and we've invited Liam Hyslop onto the podcast again to discuss whether this is panic stations for the Phoenix, and what the current state of the club really is. Quite a bit later on, we review the loss to Perth and preview the shellacking to Sydney, as well as a weekend of football riddled with VAR incidents.

sorry LG, you have competition. Using the valuable lessons of the recent past, I have a foolproof plan. I have prepared an amazing powerpoint presentation that incorporates several bright colours, those swooshy titles thar appear from the edges of the slide and an intricate graph that demonstrates how I will get this team to achieve at least top 6 in coming years without a genuine marquee player.

The 12 Pubs of Lochhead was a roaring success, we review how the day went before moving onto the actual football. The Nix fell over more than the Fever after those 12 Pubs on the weekend, we chat about the loss to Sydney and how we can try to get at least a point out of the Mariners on New Year's Eve.
