Re. Reid: isn't that just what Adelaide did this time last year in poaching Van Dyck from Brisbane? Probably not quite the same circumstances, but still

Don't know if this has been said, but Ricki is playing a 4-5-1 with Greenie or D-Mac upfront.
Wow. Good one Ricki. Greenie upfront. By himself.

Slory really strikes me as a nasty little man.  Hearfield could get under his skin if he plays.

Hi Gents, first time contributor, long time reader of this forum. Looking forward to the nix stuffing one up Adelaide on Friday.

My predictions for the game:
Brownie to score one with his thigh off another of Troys dodgy crosses
Rojas to get beaten up by bully-boy Adelaide defence
Adelaide to get at least one red card (hopefully van dick in the 3rd minute).

Cornthwaite and Boogard aren't quick enough to get near Marco.  Watson average, Cassio never defends.  The professor is out.

The problem is Adam Hughes who is a midfield clogger in the true Australian sense.  Grella, Pantelidis, sometimes Muscat...

Brisbane wasn't playing in the finals at the time.

1 up front is a sure fire way to lose, i'd think. Ricki has been forced to play a bit more attacking with at least one our DM's being out for the last few games and it hasn't worked half bad.

Please, please, please not Greenie by himself up front. Please no.

4-4-2 please.

I'd rather watch us at least try to be attacking.

The article says that's what'll happen if Lia's fit. Is it wrong to hope he's not?

Well at least our tactics are clear. Try to shutdown their midfield and hold in defense.

If we can get a cheeky break, then D-Mac will be up there, with no-one running off him.

I'm still hoping Ricki's telling tactical fibs to mislead Coolen's Cooper Cakesgoldienz2011-02-17 22:41:56

Another article in the same paper says

"The coach's preference is to revert to a 4-3-3 with the old firm of Lia, Tim Brown and Manny Muscat in midfield, leaving a front three of Rojas and Nick Ward on the flanks, and probably the in-form Dylan Macallister in the middle."

You realise you are bleeding the club dry by bludging off your workmate?

Or are there other motives?

Yep, North at right back, Disco up front with Big Mac and Rojas , Brown, Ward and Muscat midfield.

Probably don't want to start Daniel.

something about this comment just makes me laugh, oh that's it your relying on news you heard on a tween station for accuracy????

in this squad why on earth would Ricki put Hearfield up front in a game that is must win???

Bolded names will start, in a 4 - 4 - 2 shape with Ward and Rojas out wide,
Danny Vukovic, Troy Hearfield, Andrew Durante, Ben Sigmund, Jade North, Tony Lochhead, Tim Brown, Manny Muscat, Vince Lia, Nicky Ward, Marco Rojas, Chris Greenacre, Dylan Macallister, Daniel, Paul Ifill, Reece Crowther.

Queenslander 3x a year.

Firstly it's "you're" not "your"

And secondly, I'm clearly NOT relying on it - if I was I wouldn't have come straight to Yellow Fever for confirmation

I like theprof's idea but i suspect Adelaide will be grumpy about us starting 13 players.

I heard it on Radio Sport as I drove to work this morning, almost crashed the car.

IF it's true, only reason I could think of is that he wants to play 4-5-1 and would play Hearfield wide for his pace, both going forward and defensively.

Not sure I think it's a great idea though.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.
