Daniel and Bertos will need to do a lot of running to help the defence out. Also Ward really needs to stop dicking around with the ball. It seems he often has the option to make an easy pass or try to be fancy and invariably lose it and he always opts for the latter - horrible to watch players doing that.

Is Pavlovic back from his Aussie duty...???????

Disagree. Our two best games have been under a 4-3-3 formation. Yes we played bad in the weekend, but not convinced it was the formation that was the problem.

i'm not sure of 3 at the back, but if we do, I'd like:

                      Vukovich
        North Sigmund   Durante
Bertos   Manny       Brown        Lochhead
                         Ward
             Greenacre Ifill

Effectively same team as last week except different formation. Maybe Brown would be more forward too?
Otherwise Lia may work better instead of brown. Or you could play Mac in there too?

I just dont think there are enough reasons to be dropping players apart from maybe a few, but changing formation, you would want lochead to be a part of the team.
Think Troy may be a quality player in this wingback role. But not sure bout his crossing?

Rojas on the bench this week. At least 20 mins to run at opposition defenders. Time to roll dice and see what he's got. Very different player to anyone else in the squad and hardly as if others are playing so well its not possible to squeeze him in for a week.

And Daniel to start (oh, have I said that already)

Not bad oska, but Lochead on last warning, Daniel starting somewhere and Rojas on bench, plus Paston starting over vuk (bc he hasnt done a thing wrong in 4 months)

And wait until our next away game. then its time to get really radical.

At least at home we have a pattern that has worked, so reason for not getting too risque. away there is no excuse not to really experiment.

Isn't Marco still injured? If he isn't he's only just getting back to fitness so it'd be silly to chuck him in

dunno, he was injured ages ago. presumed was fit again. as long as he's training hurl him in there i say. cant be any worse than 15 minutes "impact" from Hearfield or Macallister.

Daniel really deserves a start I agree. A large part of our revival towards the end yesterday was because of his inventiveness and passing (there was one absolute pearler of a switch to Bertos who unfortunately couldn't capitalise).

It seems Ricki is determined to pair North and Durante at the back whereas IMHO Sigmund should be on the inside, North playing the right back role.

It seems to me there is an element of scapegoating going on with Lochhead. OK he wasn't great yesterday but few were. I saw some appalling lapses of concentration, even from the normally reliable Durante who was robbed of the ball in a manner very much like Ward, but he was lucky that someone mangaged to tidy up for him.

Though Daniel was given a shot against Perth and didn't do well I think he is different at home (like the rest of the team, but eh)

bar Paston, I thought Daniel was our best player in Perth - and then got dropped. Gets his one chance (others can play weeks without doing anything in particular) in the toughest fixture of the season (arguably), does at least as well as anyone else but then gets the chop when we get to come back home to the Ring.

Exceptions; Dura, North, Manny and Vuko / Paston

Forgiven; Ward (despite f**k up yesterday has made a big difference) and Greenie (set up as lone ranger - gets the short straw just about every game).

Rest; Nowhere near good enough.

Herbert - of course we don't want to over react but make things happen instead of hoping they'll happen.

Disclaimer; Angst is dissipating slowly after yesterday but some remains.

Not forgiven by me- did the same dumb sh*t against both Melbourne teams in front of goal. We are lucky Victory are not their former selves. Sure he can pass (Which is probably why Brown is short on passes), but seriously dumb showboating in front of goal twice in a row. For me won a game and lost a game. Not forgiven.

yeh I'd swap Daniel and Bertos.

And not real keen on Big Mac on the bench...would prefer Pavolva or....???????

Big Mac is a start or nothing for me.

Vuc holds starting spot. Incumbency is Ricki's default policy I think, and has been a good one.

And the man can hit a cross. Now we just need a striker who can bury the results or who can work together with a few good runs...Sometimes I thought Lochy/Smeltz or Smeltz/Daniel had one mind between them

edit: my first ROF goal was Daniel chipping to Smeltz from the edge of the box...magic!

We will lose again. After bossing them for most of the qame they will slip in a late equaliser and then WELL into stoppage time (like much much after the minimum time) they will win a free kick just outside the penalty area and some unmarked furry will head home the winner.

Daniel will start but will probably miss a simple walk-in/tap-in goal.
