Dear Welnix.

If you happen to read this on Saturday morning whilst sipping your coffee please stop reading and sign us some more players!

Yeah, we have started poorly before. You have got to be gutted with that though. 4 point from 5 games and three of those were at home.

Two straight losses to two very average teams at home - with brisbane next week. Not to mention we can't play away for sh*t. Our only advantage is gone. This season is a write off. I blame the stingy purses of Wellnix Therk2011-11-04 21:31:57

I thought that for a second too.

I think Tim was merely chatting to the ref as the ref made a note of the substitution

I think we've found a cheap 6-7 foot striker, and solved the Paston v Warner dilemma with one injury-time corner

I'm getting sick of us playing with 10 men every week...

What did Brown do all game!!??  I could only see Smith and Sanchez in the middle of the park!!

Now even head bondage is not working on him anymore so Herbert please drop him!!

Also quite "sad" to watch Hearfield plays, he was quick and threatening.

That was some horrendous stuff - we're going to be in for a long season.

I cant believe that we were so poor after the last two games.
It is time to take the blinkers off and be honest.
We have Daniel that appeals everything and is the best diver in the league.
We have Manny, who if he stops trying to kick the oppo. of the park and is playing in midfield(would be our best player)
Tim Brown who only really contributes when we are dominating. It is no good hanging out in the oppo. penalty area hoping to score when you are needed back in the mid-field.
Our defending today was shocking.Durante today spent more time putting his hands around the ref.(which is a yellow card) than anything else.
For me, I would drop Tim, put Manny in midfield and I reckon we would do a lot better.

No spark, no enthusiasm, no ideas, no creativity and no heart today, what the hell happened from that fired up team from Sunday who passed the ball so well??

The flatest Nix performance I've seen in a long time, very dissapointed, and the least animated Ricki we've had so far this season too.

We really do need some depth in this squad from middle to front.

Only good thing about that game is that we don't have any players suspended for next week. Was very even in the first half, and we f**ked it up in the second.

I must say, that the Fever Zone went very quiet when we were down, both times. We only sing when we're winning? Poor form guys.

Brown and #4 at the back are awful players. Infact that #24 isnt much better. Possible wooden spooners im afraid. Muscat done well again i thought. Release Brown and Bertos and try bring in some decent players.

Plus points Sanchez, Smith (although they played him to deep), Danial was ok, not great but ok. Greenie ran his tits off yet again. It really showed in the back 4 that we missed Siggy.

How long to Pavlovic comes back, it can't be more than a couple of weeks surely, that should give us the big unit up front we are missing  & with Ifill back in a few he should add some spark in middle field (hopefully).

We do need to pick up another striker though (and quickly)

Please Welnix, we need Killen + midfielder + defender. Freshen the squad or we're doomed. What are they waiting for? Taking another year to sign players will make no difference, our aging squad will just be a year older.

Even in the first half-you are kidding. 7 shots to 2.
63& possession against. Which game were you watching.
We were better in the second half.

A dire performance and likely wooden spooners unless some cash is spent.

Looking at the positives here, sanchez is really looking the goods. Well done to him as initially i had my doubtsAucklandPhoenix2011-11-04 22:36:08

I was watching from my biased position in the fever zone. From there, it looked even, probably because I could see what was happening down our end better. Plus I didn't look at stats or anything, just posted my observations. When I watch the replay I may change my mind.

worst performance in quite some time

i thought we would have been more experienced in the gentle Wellington breeze, but we really gave the ball away

i wonder if Ricki's determination to avoid suspensions was taken too far and we let them bully us

some good football in (small) patches but nothing like our previous performances when we showed crispness and movement

still pleased to have a club to support but I'm not sure how long we can sustain losses before it's effect on attendances would start to worry the new owners

separate post about my biggest disappointment of the night follows

Acknowledging we are in desperate need of a striker and Ifill, our only class player, is out I thought we were decent in our first few games.

What the f**k happened tonight ?

I knew we were going to lose as soon as we started the bullsh*t tedious passing across the back four and midfielders, in possession, kept turning back towards our goal. It was the same sh*t we played in the first half of last season. After the Mariners had completely organised their midfield our only option was to hoof it up to the shortest (but hardest working) target man in the league.

We do not have the skill or speed in our midfield to play snail pace football from the back hoping, miraculously, our midfield will find space.

We look OK when we go forward with purpose but, aside from 20 mins in the second half, tonight was pathetic.

Questions that crossed my mind tonight;

How does Greeny get up for it week after week - he must get the worse service of any forward in the league yet I never see him give anything less than 100% ?

In what year did Leo last beat a player ?

Is there a slower softer player in the league than Daniel ?

Tim Brown, why ?

What does Herbert see when he watches a game like that and makes no changes ?

He dribbles a lot and the opposition dont like it - you can see it all over their faces. (Ron Atkinson)

I'm not impressed with Nicky Ward laughing as he came off, perhaps he didn't realise we had just lost our second home game in a row.

We were beaten by a better team....better players and better coached.
All our attacks go down the channels against the touchlines and then we just fire in endless crosses to the shortest striker in the A-league. The only time we attack down the middle....we score a great goal....and then we keep banging down the touchlines.

The first 60 minutes were the flatest I can remember at a Nix game for ages. What happen to the passing game from the last two matches?

So here we are.....3 games lost in a row including two at home.....and we will get our arse handed to us on a plate next week against the Roar. The start of the season we dug deep and guts out 4 points.....the reality is now apon us. We are seriously undermanned in terms of depth and quality of players

Brown mystifies me. I can only assume he's low on self-confidence as his positional play suggests he simply doesn't want the ball.

Oh for another Sanchez.
