is Ifill fit??? and smith at DM, he's ana ttacking player isn't he?

for me Smith did the job we hoped Elliott was going to do for us

but it would be good to have look at Smith supporting Greenie up front or coming off the bench to replace him

at this stage the only names that must be on the sheet if fit (and not effn suspended) are

Muscat- in either defence or midfield,
Dura,
Lochy
Siggy (unless Griff displays more than Siggy in terms of judgement -even then Siggy's desire and presence might give him the edge)
Smith -on current(albeit brief) form
Sanchez
Iffy
Lord Greenacre

Pasty and Warner - hhmm, I still reckon Warner has yet to earn his place

Leo/Daniel (at the moment i.e. this early on in the season Daniel just edging it)

have i missed anyone who is available? ...(hhm - thin squad)

edit - woops - having 'defended' him for years I havent included Timmo

I do think a midfield of Iffy, smith, manny, sanchez, Daniel/Leo would mean a bench spot for timmo (didn't expect to end up saying that)

also not sure if ward would get a start (yesterday was a bit tough to judge him on tho -as we were pushing it)

If Ifill is back Smith to stay where he played..he was great in the air and looked solid.  If not he's the closest we have to a strike partner for the flick on Bata bullet.

A small town in Europe........looking to bounce straight back up....well that aint going to happen

Does Leo have pace anymore? No sign of it yesterday

Are you serious? He constantly had his man beat for pace on either wing. He got in a lt of space, but his crosses were all sh*te. (why he continues to take our set pieces is puzzling)
Daniel knocks in a corner and we scored....so many of Leo's dead-balls are cleared os easily at the near post.....he may have pace but can't remember him getting in behind there defence....looking at the replay tonight

If Ifill is not fit then Ward or Leo get the spot on the wing and Lindsay (or possibly Downey if fit) to take the other bench spot.

THis +1

No way is Rickie going to have two complete newbies in the back four. Griffiths has to play so Tonsilitis gets the flick. He did Ok last week but he is an out and out leftie. If Ifill can't play then I would still prefer Ward to start instead of Leo. leo looks like he has lost his mojo.....his crossing was dismal. Ward's problem was he came on and tried to win the game on his own...but I still rate him as a wide attacking player.

Oh how we could do with two more solid players.

I hope Pav can pull something out of the hat when he's back!

This, but Warner's spot in goal is his to lose so he starts

You may.

But whenever I over-analyse a bitter Phoenix loss - I'm like a Murray Deaker after an ABs or Team NZ defeat.  A world of melancholy.  It affects me very badly.  So we have to move on from Archies dancing, or "I'm too Kewell for [Wellington's] schools".

Actually I'm a bit busy today.

Maybe later tonight, or tomorrow?

Sorry.

Smith is zero goals from four games.

I couldn't score in a barrel full of fannies.

Greenie takes the worst bits of Ferrante and Maceo Rigters and brings them together.

I seriously do not get what people see in Lochhead. He had little composure and always tends to give th hospital pass or hoof the ball down the line. Admittedly he is a decent crosser and makes some good overlapping runs occasionally. But defensively and technically, I don't really see it.

On the other had, Tsattalios has technical ability and pace. Looks like a decent player. Then again, Along with Brown, Lochhead will always be in the team as long as Herbert is managing.

When he's not around or not in form we do tend to miss him. Agreed though he can leave some big gaps at the back at times that need tidying up by others.

Open your eyes man.... that on Sunday was the best I think I have seen Lochy play in any shirt. He was involved in pretty well everything good that the nix did. The first half alone he knocked in at least half a dozen crosses that lead to very good scoring oppotunities. Defensively he is very solid. Have you forgotten his return to the side last year coincided with a great run, admittedly his return allowed manny to play in DM, but his contribution to the squad at the moment can not be under estimated
