To add some objectivity, this was the reverse of last week with Perth. GCU probably has a little more of it and we took the points. Take the 3, celebrate it, but against the bottom dwellers, it was not all milkshakes and puppydogs.

His voice even sounds just like Ricki

Maybe that's the story, has any one ever checked if they are related?

To be fair however well done Tim and RickiAucklandPhoenix2012-01-15 22:33:23

Tim Brown right now.

We didn't deserve it, but I will take it. Kinda makes up for the dropped point last weekend.

If both games had had fair results, we'd have 2 points instead of 3, so I can live with it.

I'm still not convinced about Ricki's subs tonight but at the end of the day the positive I'll take away from tonight is that Ricki seemed to DARE tonight.

I sense a shift of attitude towards risking a loss in order to try for a win, which is great because what kind of an away record do we have to preserve anyway?

Keep on risking Ricki.

Strangest subs Ive ever seen.

First Bertos, whose been playing crap lately.

Second Downey (wtf?) . To be fair he did his job, which was obviously to make everyone else look good.

Third we finally bring on Daniel, whos been making all our chances for us recently, but leave on Ifill who running like he has a broomstick up his ar*se

Fourthly , we bring on Brown to score the winner - thats the best sub Ricky has made for ages I think he should use 4 subs more often

excellent result against the odds. Who knew Leo can run?

one thing though, what the hell were the in-game interviews with that reprobate Miron all about? Absolute sh*te as usual from Fox. Absolutely awful, painful stuff.

Great result Monkey (with finger in bum) off our backs - now let's do Newcastle on Friday! Brown, Siggy and Manny were outstanding. Pastoon's kicking was woeful but a couple of good saves. Thought Downey looked awful, didn't read play, bad first touch and what's with trying to beat Salley by kicking the ball straight into - not to mention the 1 v 1.

I very much enjoyed the in-game interviews with Miron, as well as the footage in the dressing room at half-time.

At 88th min I saw Daniel took a free kick and in middle air the ball suddenly changed direction and headed to the back of the net...still don't know who scored!!

Haha jokes...it was Brown's best game for a while (even without his goal) so a big to him tonight, if he keeps playing like this then no one would want to bench him anymore

Very happy (although we still looked a bit flat), but GREAT RESULT!

Yay the old firm Daniel and Brown. Was just saying we should get the win to make up for last week. Nek Minit!

Hope Browny starts bagging them from here on in- could come in very handy.

Downey is what he is- a sprinter, and luckily it didn't cost us. Seemed afraid to take the shot against the keeper 1 on 1.

despite end of hols i'm smiling!!

You nix - great support at the ground.

and Tim haters I'm not sure I'd be without him (was starting to waver but back to trusting ricki on that one)

so good to have that 1st away win - hopefully that'll make the team believe we can get more from games over there

Lets be fair it was a bloody good goal.
Why Daniel wasnt playing I have no idea. Ifill never really looked 100%, and we would have been better starting Daniel and using Ifilll as supersub as he managed in the last couple of weeks.

Yes they are.

Here's another post to all the haters brigade of the YF.

Also I've enjoyed Bleiberg's commentary. There I've said it.

BTW - we would have won easily if we had Harry in the team.

Bertos looked industrious (which is probably the right word). Downey can run, but so can Pav. Neither of them can play football however.
Daniel was the strange one but we have 3 points so the if's and buts mean sh*t.

After the way GCU played last weekend, I was worried about this one. Great to come away with the 3 points.

Manny was immense, as was Siggy. I thought Smith and Greenacre put in a decent shift as well.

Downey was kack!

If GCU can learn to finish, they are gonna give somebody a hammering.

Loved the Miron comments, especially when he said he'd just pissed his pants when we missed a chance.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

seriously though? it was almost as bad as a couple of seasons ago when they decided to put the player 'hot spots' or some such crap.

I and a couple of others posting thought they were quite good. When you listen to Mirons thought process, it seemed perfectly sound and logical. I always thought he was just a mouth piece but he shows he knows what he is doing (yes ok he is an A League coach but its Miron)

He went up a couple of notches with me today.

WTF? Fox interviewing saying to Ricki that set piece is one of the Nix's strengths this season?

Isn't this the first set piece goal (excluding corners) this season??

Edit:

Ricki interview - adds that "it's hard for Mark. He hasn't played in 15 games. I think he did well tonight". And "back 4 were very solid".ahmad2012-01-15 22:49:46
